I refined what I think the base game roster of Planet Zoo 2 should be like. Keep in mind this only includes returning species from PZ1.

I went through every base game animal and determined what animals they would be compatible with, if any. If they were, then that animal would return in the base game at launch even if it was a DLC animal in PZ1. Then I would look through that animal's compatibility list, and then the next one, and so on. This should hopefully explain why most of the ones in the "In Later Updates" tier are either regular exhibit animals or predators.

But I do believe that every base game animal from
PZ1 will return in PZ2.
