Accident occured outside of policy coverage date Claims team said my policy would be covered so long as I renewed. Is this bad faith on Geico's part or am I SOL
Involved in accident geico said my policy was inactive but I have a recording of the claims team saying my policy is covered so long as I purchased coverage.
Sent the recording into the person who is in charge of my claim.
After hearing the recording she apologized and would check with her managers
Shortly after she said that her team decided the policy was inactive and they are sticking with the decision to not cover the claim.
Although I did not have coverage during the incident, I assume that having a claims rep tell me that I'm covered so long as I Renew my policy, is a bad faith claim on my insurance companies part.
Is that against the law for insurance companies to make bad faith claims?
I also checked California state law and saw that any transaction after cancelation of my policy, somehow voids the policy cancelation. I may be wrong.
Do I have any other options to report geico or pressure to get my policy covered? Should I look to sue or am I SOL?
Car damage is likely totaled. Cant get car out of the shop but at least I have car insurance for next six months??? Any advice helps
