Hi everyone super active Fantasy player here looking to join a dynasty startup.

. This is going to be a long message but please take the time to read through the whole thing. A lot of people in this group haven’t played dynasty before. I wanted to give some tips and resources that will help with dynasty compared to redraft.

Depth is extremely important in dynasty. The waiver wire is going to be booty cheeks. There may be the occasional backup that breaks out on the waiver wire but the odds of grabbing a useful player in season will be low. FAAB is significantly less important in dynasty. Your main methods for improving your team are through trades and the yearly rookie draft.

For the startup draft, I know people are going to trade picks but keep in mind how important depth is. There are value drops each round but there’s a massive drop off around round 12ish. It’s not a good idea to trade away a bunch of picks before that. I personally would only do a 2 for 1 pick trade for the truly elite guaranteed top 12 players.

You’ll have the ability to trade future rookie draft picks. This can be a good strategy if your team is guaranteed to be contending for a title and one player can push you over the edge. I did it in my first dynasty league and slightly regretted it. The rookie draft is a lot of fun and it sucked to not have a first round pick. I’m not going to restrict trading picks but you may want to keep either your first or second round pick for next year just so you get to experience a rookie draft.

*Now for some info on the league.*

The buy in will be $75. The buy in will be due before the start up draft this year and before the rookie draft moving forward.

It will be a 6pt passing TD, PPR, and Tight End Premium league (extra .5 PPR for TEs). Here is the starting line up:

2 WR
1 TE
2 Normal Flex
1 Super Flex (QB eligible)

17 Bench Spots
5 IR spots
4 Taxi Squad spots (rookies only - eligible for 2 years)

THERE WILL BE NO TRADE DEADLINE.

You can trade the upcoming year’s (2027) picks. If you’d like to trade any future year’s first round pick (2028 / 2029), you are able to but you need to pre-pay the $75 buy in for that year.

6 teams make the playoffs every year and it will automatically re-seed. The rookie draft order will be set by Max PF for non-playoff teams. For playoff teams, the winner of the consolation matchups (5/6 and 3/4) will get the better draft pick. The champ will get the last pick in the draft.

*DRAFT DAY*

I’d like everyone’s input on this part. We’re going to do a slow draft for the start up draft. I’m going to set it for 2 hours per pick on the weekend and four hours per pick during the week. I will turn off the timer from 10pm - 10am. I am not going to be super strict about the clock so if you need more time for your pick because you won’t be able to use your phone, just shoot me a text and I’ll turn off the timer.

I’d like to start the draft ASAp one all is paid.
