Subclass pairing with Cleric

This is probably my least original idea for a build, but I am considering making an 11 Druid/1 Nature Cleric character. My trouble is I do t necessarily want to overlap with both Halsin and Jaheria, and I’m not concerned about this being a spore Druid. So with all of that being said, how good would circle of stars be when paired with a nature cleric, or am I really just better off doing either moon or land?

Also, with Stars Druid, if I use those forms instead of the standard Druid Wild shifts, do I still need to prioritize Dex? I heard high Dex is needed to keep AC up when using Wild shift but it seemed counterintuitive to me a bit since Druids don’t use anything else weapon wise that benefits from high Dex.

Computer Crashes

This could probably go under a few different flairs so I apologize if I picked the wrong one.

I’ve had my current desktop (ibuypower Element SE) since the beginning of the year, and it has these random times where it will crash out of nowhere. Sometimes it’s once every two weeks, other times it’s every other day. It happened 3 times today and I have no idea why but I got me the most concerned I’ve ever been, hence why I’m posting to here. Whenever it crashes, the screen always freezes and my keyboard and mouse turn off but my system is still active, so I have forcibly shut it down by holding the power button.

The most common errors/warnings I get after when it crashes are: DistributedCOM (Event ID 10016), Kernel-Event Tracking (Event ID 2; Session “Cloud Files Diagnostic Event Listener” failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022), WMI (Event ID 63; something to do with IntelMEProv), & WHEA-Logger (Event ID 17; a corrected hardware error has occurred. Component: PCI Express Root Port. Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)).

I’ve already done two different kinds of scans (Windows Security Full Scan and Windows Memory Diagnostic); both have said there are no threats or issues. Everything I’ve tried to look up says these should all for the most part be harmless, but I have no clue why I’m getting these messages and why my system has these crashes to begin with. Should I be concerned about my desktop being ok, and is there anyway to easily prevent all of these things from continuing to happen?

I’m not the most tech savvy person despite being a millennial, so please try to explain things as simply as you can I beg you haha. 😅 Thank you in advance for any help you’re able to provide!

Concentration Spells

How many spells that use concentration do you tend to use and how often do you use them? Current breakdown of concentration spells I have as options (meaning I’m open to other suggestions) for a build I’m working on is as follows:

Level 1: Protection Fromm Good and Evil
Level 2: invisibility, hold person, ray of enfeeblement
Level 3: Fear, Slow, Vampiric Touch
Level 4: Greater Invisibility, Phantasmal Killer
Level 5: Hold Monster, Telekinesis, Planar Binding

I will of course be using non-concentration spells as well, but this list is focusing on concentration only (pun not intended haha).

Thank you all in advance for your time and help!

How do you determine what spells are worth upcasting?

I am working on a new build idea based around Jinwoo from Solo Leveling, and while I think I have the build mostly figured out (Hunter/Wizard multiclass) part of what’s giving me trouble is managing the spells/spell slots because of upcasting, which is normally I’m not too big on. The main issue is will the 6th level spell slot be worth it between upcasting [Conjure Elemental] or regular casting [Sights of the Seelie: Summon Deva], or do I put a few more levels into Ranger and top out at 1 or 2 level 5 spell slots? The goal of the build is to be summoning focused while retaining martial capabilities.

Animate Dead Help

To preface everything in this, most of what I talking about here relates to Necromancy Wizards, but I believe this has a larger bearing on undead related builds as a whole.

So I’ve been trying to conceptualize some necromancy builds, specifically Talion from the Middle Earth: Shadow of War postgame & Jinwoo from Solo Leveling, and I think getting some clarity with this spell and possible interactions with it could help.

Now Wizard who pick necromancy get bonuses to this spell at level 6; you get this spell if you hadn’t already obtained it, you can summon an additional unit, and the get bonus hit points and damage. This is a 3rd level spell that summons one unit but also does the same when upcast to 5th level just with giving a stronger unit. However, when you upcast it to either level 4 or 6, instead of making one unit you get 3. My main question is for Wizards who pick necromancy, does the extra unit from their class benefit stack with the level 4 & 6 upcast variations? I am trying to maximize how many undead I can have at a time, and this feels like a significant enough of a distinction to make for me.

On a separate note, it says on the wiki for necromancy Wizards that the hit point and damage buffs are helpful when your class level is high and you’re casting lower versions of the spell. If I’m stopping at class level 6 and upcast the spell to level 4, does this give significant enough benefit to the units I summon?

Most of my theoretical builds involving Necromancy Wizards do not exceed class level 6, and so the other factor-albeit a more minor one-is the cheaper cost to script necromancy spells; if I do not have level 6 spell slots so I am more limited with what spells I can obtain and the questions I asked above about the class level 6 benefits do not work as I hope, does it make more sense to explore other options relating to undead summons?

I apologize if this confusing, I tried to explain it as clearly as my brain could think of how to. Please feel free to ask any questions to help clarify things if you need to, and thank you all for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide!

“Solo Leveling” Build

So I have been watching Solo Leveling finally and I’m hooked, and so of course I started to think about could I make a Jinwoo in this game. This is going to be more of an RP build than a minmax kind of thing, so it may not be the best but it’s what I’ve come up with so far, so I’m curious as to what others think.

The final outline is 3 Assassin Rouge/3 Death Cleric/6 Necromancy Wizard. Wizard is the main focus and this does enough to get the animate dead spell, but I did want to boost the necrotic damage with the death cleric stuff and yet also still remain kinda true to the “assassin build” Jinwoo says he has.

First level is starting with Rogue, which I think makes sense given he doesn’t start off with raising the dead anyway, plus the extra skill proficiencies are nice. Second level is also rogue to help it do a bit more. It’s after this point where things can be more open to interpretation; you could either do 3rd level rogue to get the assassin subclass and then you’re done with it, or the current path I have is getting the first Cleric level. Levels 4-5 are also interchangeable with taking the first Wizard level and second Cleric level.

Levels 6 & 7 are both Wizard, and level 8 is currently set as the 3rd and final rogue level. This means that by level 8 the result is 3 Rogue/3 Wizard/2 Cleric. Levels 9-11 are all Wizard, which is certainly late to get to level 6 for Wizard and have that be more active maybe, but this is my first idea of a triple multiclass. Level 12 is the final cleric level, but this is possibly the one level that is open to being completely changed (though keeping it as a full caster level does mean you end with 1 level 5 spell slot, so that’s something at least to consider).

The point allocation is certainly not the strongest but it can be adjusted depending on the focus. STR & DEX are certainly interchangeable.

STR: 10
DEX: 14
CON: 14 (12+2)
INT: 14
WIS: 14 (13+1)
CHA: 10

I know another class option could be some kind of oarhbreaker paladin, but that seemed a bit of stretch to me based on the character.

Cantrips and prepared spells are another area where it can be fairly random. The good news is there’s plenty of opportunity for upcasting.
Cantrips: Toll the Dead, Bursting Sinew, Sacred Flame, Bone Chill, Booming Blade, Mage Hand, Shocking Grasp, & Fire Bolt
Level 1 Spells: False Life, Ray of Sickness, Healing Word, Inflict Wounds, Command, Longstrider, Find Familiar, Thunderwave
Level 2 Spells: Blindness, Ray of Enfeeblement, Shadow Blade, Invisibility, Shatter
Level 3 Spells: Animate Dead, Vampiric Touch, Fear

Curious to hear what you all think of this!

So I’m thinking of trying a “good” Dark Urge playthrough, with White Dragonborn Sorcerer as the start and then adding on Vengeance Paladin; final split would look something like 6/6 or 7/5 respectively.

Stats are one area I’m unsure about; I’m thinking 16 (15+1) for Str, 14 for Dex (medium armor only likely so this doesn’t need to be any higher), 12 for Con, 8 for Int, 10 for Wis, and 16 (13+2+1[AE’s Hair]) for Cha. Not sure how well that actually works out but it seems somewhat balance at least.

Weapon is the other sticking point: I’m stuck between going with Mourning Frost and really going all in on cold damage (would also probably have the Adamantine Shied), or using the Drakethroat Glaive to help the breath weapon for this run. Maybe I use the Glaive on an evil Dark Urge playthrough, not sure; more just curious in general which weapon is better.
