38M with crown thinning: minoxidil alone or add fin/dut?

I’m 38 and have significant thinning at the crown and top of my scalp.

Relevant details:

- No known family history of baldness (my father and grandfather both have excellent hair)

- Currently losing weight and recently started Retatrutide

- Thyroid and iron labs are normal

- Testosterone: 367 ng/dL

- Eating a high-protein diet and taking a multivitamin

- No receding hair line from the front

My current plan is:

  1. Start 5% topical minoxidil

  2. Decide whether to add finasteride or dutasteride

For those who were at a similar stage:

- Did minoxidil alone help significantly?

- If you could start over, would you add finasteride immediately?

- Was dutasteride worth it compared with finasteride?

- How much regrowth did you get in the crown?

I’d especially appreciate responses from people who had similar crown thinning and were able to regrow hair.
