Bow wrist control

Korean Traditional.

Practicing based off of Coach's post match analysis.

Extra comment from coach ; your arrows always land bow side(left aide) of the target since you push your bow side before pull draw side. Push and pull must haappen at the same time. Don't separate it.

US SoCal Korean Archery event

For those of you in the US SoCal area, master Kim Heon Gu is hosting his annual Korean Traditional Archery Festival. Here is the flyer and information!

I know this might be against subreddit rule 6 : Advertisements and affiliate links will be marked as spam.

However, as it is hard to learn Korean traditional archery from a legitimate coach outside of Korea, I think this would be a very valuable opportunity for those who want to learn!

Basic Guide for Korean Traditional Archery

Korean Traditional Archery Basic guide for beginners.

I'm not an expert archer and not qualified to be coaching someone in Korea as I'm not a coach(사범)

However, there aren't many materials accessible for foreignors(especially due to language barrier) to look into, so I made some guides.

Windy session

Korean traditional.

Fixing target panic - achieve full draw first without aim, and then start aiming. Gotta hold when I achieved aim for about 2 more seconds for perfect satisfying shots.

night session

Korean traditional

target is 145m away, 2m x 2.66m

arrows have blunt tips and when it hits the target, it bounces off. The sensor on the target indicates hit with sound and flickering light.

Thumbdraw style doesn't naturally have wobbly arrow trajectile. If you form is good and release wasn't collapsing, you can shoot the arrow without any arrow slap(shaft hitting the arrow pass at release) which would lead to clean arrow flight.

Rhis is Korean traditional point of view, but keep holding onto the bow handle all the way through the release. letting go at release makes the bow shake around on your bow hand and it'a prone to hitting the arrow.
