Just a side note/fun fact: Gyarados and Ampharos have recently been making some Limitless tourney appearances! Haven't had much success, but at least they are trying!

Also, I myself have been entered into a few tournaments to really experience what the top-tier cards are in terms of megas and... I'm seeing a lot less Altaria and Absol and more Sceptile, Lucario, Gardevoir, Diancie, and Sableye... oh well

Here are all the things that have changed:

Gardevoir finally makes a tournament appearance and has moved to A Tier

Charizard Y moves down from S- tier as it now has fewer than 10 tournament appearances

Sceptile claims victory over Blaziken as it now has more tournament appearances (Sceptile has 18, Manectric has 17, and Blaziken has 12)

Absol is above Altaria due to having 7 more first-place awards (as seen in the second slide)

I've been seeing a lot more people use Veinasaur in their decks, so I will move Veinasaur to B Tier in the next tier list

And finally, at the bottom of the list lies the grave of dead megas. Population: Mega Latios

S+ Tier: Have decks that have made 50+ tournament placements in the past 2 weeks as of now

S- Tier: Have decks that have made 10+ tournament placements in the past 2 weeks as of now. They are in order from most to least amount of appearances; the order is NOT based on personal preference (go team Sceptile!)

A Tier: Have decks that have made at least one tournament placement in the past 2 weeks as of now (ordered same as S- Tier)

B Tier: Have decks that have made at least one tournament placement in the past 4 weeks as of now

C Tier: Have placed in tournaments before, but it has been a bit longer than 4 weeks

D Tier: Cards that haven't found their footing to make it to a tournament

E Tier: Either just bad in general, or there are other megas that 1-up them (Heracross>Pinsir, Swampert>Blastoise)

And for those wondering, I put Latios in Z Tier

I will be dropping updates on this list based on new seasons, and I will, of course, add new megas as they come. Let me know how you'd order the top 3 megas because my personal preference says Altaria since it has more variety and actually contributes more damage than Absol, but I'm just one guy.

I could honestly see people immediately pairing this with mega Gardevoir to put this pokemon at full power but idk

I based these rankings on tournament placements and results.

The S tiers consistently get 1st places or a ton of tournament placements

A tiers get a lot of tournament placements but not enough 1sts

B tiers have appeared once or twice in tourneys

C tiers haven't placed, but at the same time, aren't bad cards by any means

D tiers are cards that aren't really worth making a deck for anymore

E tiers never get touched

UPDATE: I have made the following changes and will not be making any more.

Sceptile is an S Tier due to being a different type of Blaziken while keeping its success. The only reason I put Sceptile below Blaziken and Manectric is that both of them just barely have more touney placements and results (recent tourneys, not all of the tourneys in history)

Gardevoir is moved up to the top of B, and I will not take it up any further due to Gardevoir unfortunately not making any big appearances in tournaments, but I agree with people's take that it is an underrated card.

Some other small changes are that Slowbro is in C tier, Camerupt and Pinsir are in E tier, Gengar is sadly in D tier, and I moved Medicham to D tier because I never see anyone use it.
