I've been told that mounting the U3000 pro on fritted glass is a no no since it will interfere with U3000's parking mode. Is that just a bunch of bull? If that's the case, i'm thinking of running the U3000 pro at the very top of the windshield on the passenger side located just right enough to clear the fritted glass https://imgur.com/a/ughLxl3 - thoughts?

I'm trying to educate myself as much as possible. I'm looking into getting a dash cam and hardwiring seems like the way to go - I would ultimately want parking mode for all the days I don't drive (4-5 days). However, it looks like the cam would stop before it completes the full week based on research so far since the battery is not being recharged. The way to avoid this is maybe to put the dash cam on impact mode but can anybody speak on the sensitivity of the mode? I would prefer to capture any drivers leaving scratches, for example, when they're parking.
