I bought a Viofo A129 in 2019 and it's been working amazingly well, but part of me wants to upgrade to a 4k model. One of the features I'm interested in is the faster Wifi transfer speeds to download videos when you're out on the road.

One time I witnessed a car reverse into the car in front of me, and I stayed by to show the video to the police to prove the person wasn't at fault. It took like 15-20 minutes or so to download, I just sat there in the parking lot waiting for it to finish.

One of my concerns is if something like the above ever happens again, I might have to spend another 20 minutes waiting for the video to download. The newer models like the A329S claim to download a 1 minute 4k video in 10 seconds, is this true? Being able to download a 4k video in a minute or less would be worth the upgrade, in addition to the obvious sensor improvements.

To those with newer models, how long does it take to download a video to your phone using the Viofo's wifi?

After a small side collission without witnesses on the Autobahn, the other driver is lying about what happened and my inssurance will have to cover my damage (7000 Euro).

So, for the future, unfortunately, I need a Dashcam. (If I had had one, I could have proven that I did not change lanes.)

For that I need a bit of advice.

Car: Nissan Leaf e+ (ZE1), 2024

Goal: Reliable video in case of an accident, parking protection is nor necessary and neiter are beautiful driving videos.

Where do I live? (for applicable laws and buying reccomendations): Germany

Price: under 300 Euro if possible.

My research points me to a 2 channel Viofo A229 Plus as the current best contender. I would like a smaller unit without a screen, but the only comparable option with the same/better picture quality seems to be the Viofo 3XX range which is beyond 300 Euro.

- Is the A229 Plus a good choice?

- Is there any comparable, way smaller camera (without a screen)?

- Are the optional, expensive polarization filters worth it?

- For power, I want to connect it to my powered rear view mirror with an adapter. Not a good idea?

- Do you know of any great deals or bundles for 2-channels (with the polarization lenses) in the EU?

I want to get one which has maximum exterior coverage. I do not know why I would need interior coverage.

I want to hard wire it , will have it installed.

What bells and whistles should I ignore?

Mine is an older basic car with no camera on it.

So, a coworker recently threw soda on my white car. I’m quite certain about who did it, based on how the soda landed on the roof and the proximity of the car to the other person’s car. It was an easy soda throw after lunch from their car to mine. Since there are no work cameras outside, that’s why this person felt comfortable doing it. I’d like to buy a 24/7 dash cam for both the front and rear to record this incident for future reference. Could you please advise me on the best option?

I have a blackvue 770 that recently has not been turning on every time. I have disconnected the rear camera and that hasn't fixed it.

Currently hard wired.

Hey, I had a Pelsee P1 Duo, but I noticed that it can’t properly read license plates. At night, it’s awful, and during the daytime, it’s only slightly better.

So I’m thinking about buying a better one, but I don’t want to spend $400–500.

Can you suggest something around $200–250 that’s really good, especially for reading license plates during both the day and night?
