I'm looking at buying the Alienware AW2725D for $400, is there anything better within the range of $500 that I should consider? 1440p 27 inch OLED monitor

I'm looking to upgrade to an OLED monitor after using IPS for a decade. Right now my top pick is the Alienware AW2725D for $400.

What are your thoughts on this pick, and is there anything better that's worth spending more to get? My budget is $500

Edit: I went ahead and bought it, enough research and mulling over it, I'm sure I'll be satisfied with my purchase even if there are better monitors out there. For the price, it's a good monitor and has good reviews, so I'll try it out

If I'm upgrading to a 1440p OLED monitor, what's the minimum I should look to spend to get the best picture for dollar? What features should I be looking for?

I'm currently using 2x LG 27GL83A-B IPS 1440p 144hz monitors for my 9070xt/5800x setup. I bought the monitors in 2021 for $280 each, which was a steal back then.

Last week, I upgraded my GPU to a 9070xt, and I'm in a spendy mood now. I'm considering upgrading my monitor because they've become cheaper over time, and now with OLED, supposedly the picture is amazing, especially in dark environments.

Question is, how much do these cost, and what should I buy? I don't have a set budget, but spending $400-500 sounds about right given what I'm seeing on Amazon.

Also, what are your thoughts on burn-in? Sometimes I like to get up and leave my PC alone for a while until the monitors turn off after 15 minutes. Would that habit cause burn-in? I don't like having to alter my habits, and the thought of constantly worrying about burn-in makes me hesitant to upgrade because I don't want to constantly be thinking about it.

Edit: Can somebody tell me about the Samsung G61SH? It's currently $400 on Amazon and is a newer monitor. One downside I see is the nits, but my current LG is 350 nits and I'm using it at 21% brightness, so I don't think that will be an issue. I do have a window behind me, but it is sideways and isn't an issue with my matte monitor

I have Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pros, but I'm not impressed. Am I just not an audiophile, or is there something else I should try in the ~$500 range?

My previous pair of headphones was Sennheiser HD 599SEs, which I loved because they sounded good and were only $99. I was looking for an upgrade since I had more money and love music, so I went with DT 1990 Pros. I've had them for a year or so now and use them with a Fiio K7, but I'm still not sure I'm getting the best audio experience.

It feels like I'm only getting a marginally better experience than my Sennheisers, and I'm left wondering if this is the audiophile experience, or if it's just my sound preference that would favor something else.

What would you recommend if I wanted to sell these and buy new headphones?

I'm running a 5800x/3070 1440p build from 2021. Should I upgrade my GPU now, or save it for when I upgrade to a completely new 4k build ~2-3 years down the road?

I built my PC during COVID shortages when the Newegg Shuffle gave me the opportunity to get a 3070 for $715. I paired it with a 5800x since the 5800x3d wasn't released yet. I bought a 144hz 1440p monitor, but I find for many games I can't push triple digits and am forced to play at lower settings at 60-90fps.

Right now I just started Clair Obscur and it's at around 60fps on high settings. Many games can't run at triple digits and I'm forced to turn settings down

I've been considering upgrading, but ideally my next upgrade would be a big upgrade to the next big thing, being 4k. I've built a hypothetical 2026 build that includes a 4k monitor, and it comes out to $4.5k, which is more than I feel like spending right now. I could do it, but I honestly would rather wait for a better time when I have a new, larger apartment and prices go down.

In the meantime, what would you do in my position, if you were to hold off on upgrading to 4k and keep your current system?

I don't have a set budget because I can afford whatever I feel like, it just depends on what's a good value and will last me ~2 years satisfactorily. I've been looking into possibly a 9070xt, which would put my budget at around $750. Would this be a worthwhile upgrade?

What happens if you reach the max dose and still don't see the results you want? Do you continue anyway and try harder with lifestyle changes and willpower?

I'm currently on 10mg, I've started month 4 of compounded Tirzepatide. I've lost about 15 pounds so far with 60 to go, but I feel like most of that is due to a new Adderall prescription that caused me to have 0 appetite for an entire week. My body has already adjusted some to the Adderall, so I can't rely on it for weight loss forever.

My appetite is suppressed, but I find that I've plateaued some and I'm not losing weight like I expected. When I was in month 2 I lost weight, but that didn't last so I increased the dosage as normal.

I'm not sure where I'll be 6 months from now, but I don't think tirzepatide is helping as much as I would like it to. My current fear is that I've stopped losing weight, and even going up in dosage won't help. I'll increase it until I reach the maximum, and I'll feel the same way I do right now, with a lot of appetite and not losing weight.

What do you do, just increase dosage and hope it helps? And if it doesn't, should I continue at maximum dose for the rest of my life and try to lose the rest using old-fashioned dieting and going hungry?

My T levels are a bit high, what's a good dosage to reduce to?

I am currently prescribed 200mg of Testosterone Cypionate to take intramuscularly once a week. I choose to inject 100mg of it twice of a week subcutaneously. I took a dose of 100mg on Monday, and got my blood tested on Wednesday morning. My levels were at 1133, which is high. My doctor prescribed that I should take it once every 14 days. I think the better option is to reduce the dosage so I don't have periods of high T and an entire week of low T

What would you do in my situation? I'm thinking of taking 75mg twice a week so I'm down to 150mg a week.

Just changed my own oil for the first time, I can't believe I paid Jiffy Lube $100 to do this.

I've been taking my car to Walmart or Jiffy Lube for oil changes, last time I went to Jiffy Lube because I liked the convenience of staying in my car. Recently I've decided to do some DIY car maintenance, and changing my own oil seemed like the logical next step.

Here is what I purchased:

Item Price
Mobil 1 5W-20 advanced full synthetic $25
Motorcraft FL910S oil filter $9
Hyper Tough oil filter wrench $7
Hyper Tough oil drain pan $3
2 piece funnel set $1.50
13mm socket $6

Here is what I already had:

  • 3/8 inch torque wrench
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Nylon gloves and paper towels

Note that I didn't buy car ramps or jack stands, I used a curb to raise the right side of my car, which was enough space for me to get underneath and do the job. All in all I used maybe $65 worth of equipment, some of which is reusable.

Not only did I save money, but I have better oil and a better filter than what any shop uses. I'll be doing this in the future from now on, it was easier than expected

I signed up with Pomegranate just today, hoping to get a 6 month supply from BPI.

For the labs, I sent in 2 labs, my labwork from 2024 showing I am high cholesterol/high triglycerides, and more recent labwork showing I am within normal levels. I am at normal levels due to being prescribed rosuvastatin and prescription fish oil. Does my labwork need to show I am currently at this moment in time showing abnormal results, or will they accept what I submitted?

For my proof of current prescription, I just uploaded a picture of my bottle which has my prescription info on it and pharmacy/prescriber info. Is this sufficient?

What did you submit for proof of prescription and labs? Did you have any trouble if you submitted what I did?
