Just ranting about my 2021 Fiesta:
I found out today that modern cars do some weird management of their batteries.
I replaced my battery today that is only 5 years old. I was looking at the battery voltage while driving it. The car only charges the battery when decelerating ⁉️. Apparently that's a feature to save some fuel. After more than 15 minutes of driving the battery was still only at 12.0V, the same as it started off.
I guess the car is smart enough to always charge it just enough so it can start next time. But this goes against the best practices for lead acid batteries I'm familiar with. The car also insists on turning lights on every time I unlock it or open a door, wasting more power.
My older fiesta just charged the battery normally and as soon as the key was off barely used any power. I would have never needed to replace a battery after only 5 years!
On top of that, the new Fiesta needs a special EFB battery (I assume the way the car treats it, it will kill a conventional lead acid battery even faster). My local Ford dealer wanted €270 for this battery, not even including installation! Luckily the local parts store had one for €125 (Panther brand, not the original Varta), but that's still a lot compared to a basic €60-70 car battery.
---Rant over
Looking for an android auto screen that sits further down in the dashboard than most of the ones you see online.
I'm not a fan of the large screens (pictured) that take up a huge chunk of the windscreen and stick out a lot.
Wondering if anyone has found a decent one that sits further down.
Thanks
Ford fiesta 2010 1.6 zetec S is constantly revving by itself in neautral and occasionally drops so low that it stalls out. Took it to garage and they couldnt find anything wrong with it, no leaks or mechanical failures, they ran a smoke test and nothing came back. Any ideas/thoughts ?
Use it as a work car ford fiesta 2011, my only issue is this opens every few minutes and is starting to get very annoying need help/ideas to keep it closed
Do you guys think an auto 2005 Fiesta is good for a first car? It has low miles and good MOT history. Thanks!
Hoping someone can help me?
I have a problem with my 2014 ford fiesta Zetec 80. The issue is as described with more context below.
- The engine cuts out in slow traffic (but starts up again with no drama).
- The revs idle at 1.5k-2K - usually only after throttle has been engaged and car stops. Sometimes a little jerky with the car rolling and my foot off the accelerator.
- Braking is more of an effort, but does not feel weakened or poor.
- Throttle body was recently replaced but this seems to have done nothing and the issue has got worse.
- Timing chain replaced 15k miles ago.
- Fuel economy as of recently has dipped a bit.
- Air conditioning seems to stabilize the rough revs, as does general fans being turned on.
- Cars coolant tank cap recently flew off after the coolant was changed, coolant leaking everywhere. Replacing the cap seemed to fix this in and of itself.
- I have had 2 mechanics look over this, and neither seem 100% certain on what it is.
- NO fault codes show on a diagnostic.
Please can someone advise me if they have had similar issues to this, and if so, what they found the issue to be? Or if any mechanics happen to be aware of such an issue, I’d really appreciate a comment.
I use my car for work, and need it for a million other reasons, so I would like to find out if it is a known issue that can be fixed, or if I should scrap the car, as soon as I can.
Many thanks in advance!!
I've had the car for 2 months now and still can't figure out what the slit is for
in Brazil is REALLY difficult to find a nice 4x108 16" wheel, so I found this beautiful model on 17”. Thinking about the downsides and goodsides.
I use 195/50/16 tires so I would put 205/45/17
share your thoughts!
Now, I’m a bit nervous in posting this, as I’m probably going to look a bit silly. But if my car is supposedly a 1.4 petrol, why does it say 1.6 diesel? I’ve had the car a year and just only looked at this sticker.
For those who have driven both mk7.5 fiesta hatch and the KA.
How closely is KA related to the Fiesta?
In terms of
The overall dimensions are pretty much the same I think.
I have driven the older 2009 Fiesta sedan and now own this KA as my country never got the Fiesta hatch.
Honestly, this feels every bit as pokey and fun as the older fiestas.
O carro é um Ford New Fiesta 2016 Hatch. Alguém mais já teve problema assim?
I know this is probably a common thing, but if you own a mk7 ford fiesta s without cruise, all you have to do is find a good steering wheel with cruise buttons, and then install it! The only tech savvy portion you have to do is plug into it with Forscan, and then turn the module on. Or you can have a dealer do it (but that's expensive.)
An easy way to check if your mk7 fiesta is able to have cruise is look on the brake pedal. There should be a blue and white plunger switch which is for cruise control shut off.
Gotta love modular cars!!
Anyone with a fiesta st180 can please tell me if this is normal and healthy engine sound and if yours sounds the same please??
does anyone know what this part is?
obviously some sort of cover
rubber
found loose in the section right under the wipers
I want to change the shifter knob in my Fiesta ST line, but I can't figure out how to remove the knob from the boot, any help is appreciated
