I was driving on the freeway (100 zone) and was momentarily distracted after being surprised by a cyclist riding in the outside lane with no lights in the dark. In that second or so the traffic had all stopped short. The AEB beeped and slammed on the brakes well before I did and we managed to pull up short. It was truly terrifying, and I don't think I could ever buy a car without this feature again. It got me thinking that for how annoying we all say a lot of this stuff is, when it does what it's supposed to in a situation like that you feel very humbled.
