Enterprise rental had pre-existing zip-tied underbody plastic, reported same morning. Later driveway scrape. What should I do before return?
Rented a Kia K5 from Enterprise on Friday. At my first fuel stop, I noticed the front lower underbody plastic/splash shield area was already hanging down and zip-tied. I photographed it immediately.
I called Enterprise the same morning at 10:04 AM and reported that the lower front panels were zip-tied and hanging down. I spoke with a local branch employee, who said it would not be a problem.
Later, a steep driveway made scraping noises, probably contacting the same already-damaged lower plastic. I have not hit anything. I bought cable ties in case I need to temporarily stabilize it so it does not drag, but I do not plan to alter anything unless it becomes unsafe or starts dragging.
Question for former Enterprise/rental employees: what is the best way to handle this at return? Should I mention the call and photos immediately? Should I avoid touching it unless it is dragging? Anything specific I should ask them to note?
I have photos from pickup/fuel stop, the call time/name, and receipt for cable ties if needed.
