my boyfriend with the ferret he said is "stinky" and "not allowed in his room"
he loves him🤭

he loves him🤭
Took my Blu boy to the vet. My biggest concern was the loss of hair on his tail, his loss of appetite, lethargy, and loose stools. I was thinking he was depressed when his sister got sick and passed, or that he had adrenal, which is still a possibility. but the vet told me his spleen is very enlarged and now feeling it, it feels like a very large hard lump. I dont know how i missed this. the vet gave him prednisolone and said that adrenal would likely not affect him as soon as this would so we didn't really worry about that as much. he said it could be lymphoma. im hoping the medicine will help with any swelling and maybe perk him up a bit, makes sense now why he would only eat a small bit at a time and then be done😔 im keeping in touch with the vet to give updates and see if the medication helps at all
Seen this cutie pie at Petco and almost took him home, sigh....
and since when did marshalls ferrets become so expensive?
Should I be worried about adrenal disease?
I noticed my boy is losing hair on the tip of his tail. he's very itchy as well but i feel like he has been for a long time. i used to think he had some sort of skin allergy because he was always more itchy than my other ferret. He keeps biting at his tail ive noticed
He has a vet appointment monday, i hope hes ok. idk if i can handle him getting sick too.
My boy Blu just lost his sister. I was heavily against getting another ferret as I am starting school this month (part time classes but I will also be working) I wanna be able to give him 100% undivided attention when I am home, which I have been. He goes in a cage only when I am not home. He has been very lethargic, he's eating but not a whole lot, and Im just worried about him. This is all very very fresh. She was only euthanized two days ago due to cancer. Now that I am seeing his behavior, I wonder if maybe I should get another companion. My worry is that a younger ferret may terrorize him a bit. He's quite depressed and I am too.
Young ferrets have high energy- the complete opposite of him and I right now. Even when his sister was sick he seemed to be lower energy as well.
My predicament is: I get him a younger companion and he is not happier due to age gap, maturity differences, or energy levels.
He seems to have no interest in playing, so on the other hand I wonder: will giving him a playful companion boost his energy? Help him with his grief? Would having another friend to cuddle and play with make him get out of this depression?
Any advice?
I think a vet visit is also in order anyways, I know its fresh and hes grieving but I am such a worrisome person. Hes so low energy its crazy. Hes a chunker that likes to eat and he does have loss of appetite. I ordered new snacks and such and Ill see if that helps his appetite. He also has some loss of hair on his tail, maybe im over anxious but after my girl having cancer and not understanding what it was for so long I feel like somewhat of a hypochondriac towards my ferret. He hid from me yesterday and I had convinced myself he was dead or hurt but he was just sleeping. I am going slightly crazy😔
I said goodbye to my Lucy girl today after 7 years. Unfortunately she had cancer and I had no choice but to euthanize. I wish I would have listened and done it sooner as she was in a lot of pain and I couldn't do anything to help her anymore. She could barely walk. it pained me horribly to see her that way, but I will forever cherish my memories with her and how shes been there for me in my hardest times.
I hope she knew how loved she was by her brother Blu and I.
As for my other ferret Blu, I am concerned he will go downhill after this. He is a year younger than her, and been with her since a baby. He was there when she was euthanized through the entire process because I didn't want him to be confused. He sniffed her, and I think he immediately understood and his behavior changed and he just laid down and went back into the carrier they were in together. Thats where he is sleeping now, probably because of her smell. I wont throw any of her things away or wash anything just yet (although the cancer she had made her smell quite bad :( and things will probably need washed eventually) If anyone has experienced this and has advice I could really use it.
My girl is just not doing well at all anymore. all she does is sleep, shes eating and drinking normally but I dont see any playfulness or her really wanting to interact too much with her brother. just very sleepy all the time. she has a huge tumor which at this point is taking over her entire stomach she keeps chewing it the vet basically said there's nothing he can do she gets an antibiotic and a topical powder and thats all. its just destroying me seeing this huge THING on her stomach and not being able to do anything about it. I dont want to put her to sleep yet... I dont know how much pain shes in, but I dont want her to suffer. I got a second opinion and the vet said she has a squamous carcinoma, the first vet said it was a mast cell tumor but I dont think it was. it looks painful, it gets crusty and im sure infected which is why we do an antibiotic at the beginning of the month and use it everyday for 10 days. just nothing seems to help I cant bathe her all the time to clean it the powder keeps it somewhat dry but she chews it due to it being itchy im genuinely just at a loss and feel extremely bad that i didnt catch it sooner or get her medication sooner idk if anyone has any prior experience with something like this I would really like to hear it.
Hi, just looking for some advice/opinions on my sleeping habits. I work midnights and have for about 3 years on and off which in itself has been hard and messes with my sleep schedule. My boyfriend works dayshift, usually 6-2 sometimes later. I work 11-7 and I get home and sleep the entire day. He tries to wake me, I get angry and cuss him out and continue to sleep until 5,7,9 pm sometimes. On my days off im either sleeping or im getting back on a normal sleep schedule which then messes me up when I go back to work. I feel like i can sleep forever. i know this isnt normal neither is working midnights which i plan on soon changing (hopefully if a new career change goes well) but im worried about my health and if this could be a symptom of an illness? or if im just exhausted from working nights. i plan on getting my labs done and seeing my doctor but i dont have health insurance so i keep pushing it off. even after sleeping i still get so tired and feel like i could sleep for another 13 hours after like 11 hours. my energy is just drained most days
