Then vs now

My sweet boy Pedro was found at 5-6 weeks old in the middle of a service road by a highway early one morning in March 2025. I got a call from a friend at 4pm that this pup had been at a tire shop all day and in a hour when they closed, the men were leaving him outside with a bowl of water. The sky was already getting dark and thundering so, I said bring him to me and I’ll find him a home. Having lost our dog 4 mos prior we were not even entertaining the idea of another one yet. I said 3-4 days max!!!
Here we are in Oct 2026, and my lil pup is now a gentle giant at almost 100 lbs. He sleeps in my bed, follows me everywhere ( I joke that he’s made of Velcro) and we can’t imagine life without him. The vet told us immediately that he was Black Mouth Cur mix, but until we do DNA we’re not sure what the mix is. He is however, a hundred percent big whiny baby!

I figured I had lurked long enough 😊

VCR Stopped responding

I have an old GE which has been working up until recently. Still powers on but no button is working on the unit or via the remote. When I hit power, the digital screen lights up, says CH 2, I hear the gears or whatever act like it recognizes the tape, then screen display CH 2 shuts off, but unit is still powered on.

The only thing that has ever been wrong with it, is when I first got it, it kept pulling the tape back in after ejecting. Other than that no issues.

Bought this to replace the last one that went out so I would really love if I can fix it rather than purchase yet another one. If anyone can point me to any helpful videos or manuals or ideas for things to check. I'm sure you'd rather be doing just about anything else on a Friday night so Thank you!
