Struggling to find VAT advice in the mobile apps domain

I've spent a few years as a sole trader, creating apps that I distribute through the App Store and Google Play, to a worldwide audience. My revenue comes from in-app purchases on both stores and also from selling advertising space through Google AdMob. I already have an accountant that helps with my self assessment.

In the 25/26 tax year, I've been fortunate enough to exceed the VAT threshold of 90k turnover, and through my own investigation I determined that I didn't owe any VAT because it's technically b2b, with Google and Apple as my only customers. I could be mistaken on this.

My accountant reached out to suggest I speak to a VAT specialist to determine what I owe, and so I've been trying to do that by looking online, but so far I've either been ignored or told that they can't help me - perhaps because of the area I work in, or because I'm a small fish.

I feel as though I must be in the same situation as thousands of other individuals and there should be easy answers to these questions - I'm not doing anything odd for an app developer. I just want to find someone with the right credentials (What is my accountant looking for, exactly?) that I can hire to go over my finances and determine my rate of VAT, to provide comfort to everyone involved and make sure I'm paying what I owe. Are there specialists out there that would help a company of my size with this? Am I looking in the wrong place by searching 'VAT specialists' online, or have I just been unlucky?
