Just finished rereading the series, and noticed that Dean arrived in the Room for Requirement before the Battle of Hogwarts with NO WAND! True Gryffindor energy right there!

But follow-up: he does end up winning a wand in the course of the fighting, which made me wonder how that happened? And yes- it did occur to me that it might have just involved picking up the wand of someone who had died.
