Mid-range phones are so good now that flagship phones are basically a scam for normal people.
Hot take: flagship phones are becoming a waste of money for normal people.
A $300–$500 phone today already has:
- 120Hz OLED displays
- solid cameras
- fast charging
- good gaming performance
- all-day battery life
- 5G
Meanwhile $1,200 flagships give you:
- slightly better photos
- slightly faster apps
- AI features most people won’t use
- and somehow… no charger in the box 💀
At this point I honestly think most people buy flagship phones for the status, not because they actually need them.
Change my mind.
