Finding A New Phone

So I have owned multiple Apple Phone products such as: iPhone 6s/ iPhone 11/ (Current) iPhone 16 Plus. Recently I have just been getting fed up with Apple as a company and how I feel as though the newest Apple phones are just so overpriced for what they are capable of.

Anyways, I wanna know if anyone out there has a different brand of Phone besides the classic iPhone or Samsung. If so what do you have and how is the company as well as the Phones performance/Specs.

I appreciate any responses

My present smartphones. What are yours?

Using the iPhone 17 pro (my first experience with ios) and Oppo Find X9 Pro which has very nice cameras.

Does it make sense to buy a separate digital camera instead of upgrading to a flagship 'phone?

Hi there.

I'm new to the smartphone world but have been reading a few threads on there which have all said much the same thing - that mid-range phones are now so good that the only difference most people will notice in practice between one of these and a flagship phone such as the Oppo X9 Ultra is the quality of the cameras in the latter.

(I'm biased here because my phone is an Oppo Find X series, albeit an older one.)

If you already have a mid-range phone but would like better photographic options, would it make sense then to keep it and buy an additional digital camera instead? I would appreciate your thoughts on this please.

Thanks in advance.

S26 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Ultra or S26+?

Which is best for a mix of photography, social media, gaming, listening to music and calling/videocalling, and will the battery last a whole day for the next 4-5 years? The prices are:

S26U 256GB - €1199 (Could be €1119, but dependant if the deal lasts until November)

iPhone 17PM 256GB - €1399

Xiaomi 17U 512GB - €1419

S26+ 256GB - €1019

Old Flagship or Budget/Mid-Range

Hi all,

Just asking if it's better to go for older flagship phone (say S24U) as opposed to getting a newer model that is in the mid-range of 400-450 euro.
Just trying to get an idea of which would generally be better as I know that some countries will obviously have better deals and discounts.

cheers!

I know nothing about phones please help me✊

I am currently in high school and have gotten a part time job so I feel I should replace my current brick of shit that I call a phone. It's a moto g 5 (99% sure) and I have had it since the end of 2021. It's been used a lot as I am a teenager and is ridiculously slow and buggy clearly nearing its maximum practical usage, I hate having to get something new because of the horrible ethical issues behind electronic production but it's near unusable.

All I really want is something at a lower end price (under 600 ideally) that will last ages with decent care. I also want a good battery life and easy interface because I suck using and setting up any device. Camera quality is not super important to me but a decent camera would be nice, as well as a decent looking phone (not super old fashioned or futuristic looking) I also don't like super small phones like the mini iPhones as they're a bit finicky to use (bigger the screen the more easily I can watch slop instead of studying).

If anyone has any advice I would rly appreciate it:DD

Best mid-range Android phone for photography?

Hi everyone, I’m planning to upgrade my Android smartphone (currently using a Redmi Note 8 Pro), and I’m looking for advice on the best device in the €300-€400 range (I live in Italy, that's the reference market). My priorities are:

  • Camera: This is the most important thing. I want the best photos possible. I don’t care much about a telephoto lens, but the images need to be sharp with vibrant colors. This goes for both the main camera and selfies.
  • Battery life: It needs to be decent (my current phone still lasts over a day after 7 years!).
  • Memory: At least 8GB of RAM and a minimum of 128GB storage.
  • Usage: I don’t game, so high-end gaming performance isn't a priority.

From what I’ve seen, the main candidates seem to be:

  • Honor 400
  • Google Pixel 9a
  • Oppo Reno series
  • Redmi Note 15 Pro

I want to avoid Samsung because I feel they are overpriced and I haven't had good experiences with them. I find the ads in the Redmi interface quite annoying, even though the hardware is decent. I’ve heard great things about the Pixel and Honor, but I’ve never seen them in person.

To reiterate: the camera is the dealbreaker for me. It needs to take spectacular photos. Thanks!

Is 50MP camera actually useful in budget phones or just marketing?

Been seeing phones in the affordable range now pushing proper 50MP cameras. Recently checked out the realme 16T and curious if the camera quality is genuinely improving in this segment or specs just look good on paper? Anyone tried it for daylight photos or portraits?

Any smartphone (Android) recommendations?

This is going to be my first phone so I'm not really sure about what to look for. I'm looking for a phone with good storage , camera and good processor. I'll be joining university this year so I would appreciate some suggestions.

Edit: I'm from India and my budget is 25k to 35k

Am i wrong for complaining about a flagship phone?

So ive got the Oppo find x9 ultra and been giving a bad review on the speakers, as it isnt good for a flagship level device (compared to other flagships). I was using a midranger (a54) and the audio on the x9 ultra is just a little bit better.

After dropping +1300$ (which is 3.5x times more than my previous phone) i expected better audio but people are hating on me for asking the bare minumum on a FLAGSHIP. Some comments that i received was that if i didnt like the audio then i should be using headphones or buying a speaker (even tho thats not the point of BUYING a flagship).

I am only criticizing the audio which isnt good as other flagships PHONES.

Went with an iPhone for 2 years and want to go back on Android, what do you recommend me ?

So I’ve had an iPhone 12 Pro for nearly 2 years (got it at the end of 2024) and since that time has passed i really liked it and was happy with it, however it doesn’t satisfy me anymore with the battery capacity and its tendency of running hot (especially in the summer which makes my battery go down even quicker)

So I’ve wanted some recommandations of phones in the 500€ price tag that have the same stability and doesn’t compromise in performance and autonomy

I’ve got some picks in mind like : Poco X8 pro max, Xiaomi 15T, Google 10a,Oneplus Nord 5

But im really uncertain if they will stay stable in the long run (having experienced this with other android phones)

So feel free to give me any suggestions and experiences with some phones that you believe might think could suit me

Need help picking a new phone

I bought Honor magic 7lite in november, but are not happy with the camera and video(it lags like a motherfucker) . I live in europe and have a budget of 600$. I would prefer not to have a chinese Phone. Have been looking at ssmsung A56 and samsung s25FE. Camera is the most important feature as i have a toddler. What would you recommend? Any other models? Apple?

Android 17 might actually be a huge upgrade 👀

Android 17 is looking better than I expected so far.

A few standout features:

Better battery optimization
Smoother performance
Smarter AI notifications/replies
Improved privacy controls
Better multitasking for foldables/tablets
Camera and gaming upgrades

Honestly, if it improves everyday performance and battery life, that’s the real win.

What do you think? What’s the one feature you want Android to finally fix or improve?

Vivo X300 Ultra or Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Can't decide between the two phones.

Which one is better? I watched multiple reviews but they pretty smiliar.

I love to have a phone with a good camera.

It's a plus point if it has a good speaker.

(Currently using an S25 Ultra)

iPhone 17 or S26 Ultra for the Same Price? (I already have a MacBook and AirPods)

I found a way to get the S26 Ultra for almost the same price as the iPhone 17, but I’m not sure if I should buy it because I originally wanted an iPhone to complete my ecosystem. I know Samsung phones don’t usually hold the same resale or exchange value as iPhones, but the S26 Ultra still feels like a better deal at that price.

Would it really be that inconvenient or limiting to use with the rest of my Apple products, or is the iPhone experience good enough that I should seriously consider passing on this deal?

Need a new iPhone—what should I get?

My current phone is an iPhone 8, which has lasted me around 8 or 9 years at this point, so I definitely am due for a replacement. I am looking for something similar to what I had before: smaller size (def don’t want anything huge like the 15/16+), durable (I drop my phone a lot), better quality camera, and a decently long battery life. I want this phone to be long-lasting, so I can use it for hopefully as many years as my 8. I don’t do anything on my phone other than text, photos, and GPS, so I don’t need anything too complicated. Just wanted to hear some recommendations. Price is not an issue atm.
