Where to go next
I’m 1 year and 3 months into my job which means I can officially start looking and applying to other units. Currently nights on medsurg, but it leans more toward the step down side compared to the other medsurg units at my hospital, still medsurg but slightly more critical patients. Anyway, I am deciding if I am interested in ED, or something in a specialty clinic, there’s also an infusion clinic that could be cool. I think I ultimately want to try OR, pacu, or cath lab. But a lot of those places want critical care experience and I would rather do ED than ICU. BUT I’m also feeling burnt out l and I kind of hate working for a hospital. Idk I’m curious what other people have done or think. There is a position I saw for “triage nurse general surgery”- the description was not very helpful but it is at a surgical center which would probably be good experience.
