Slow loser
Five months ago, in February 2026, I had gastric bypass surgery.
My highest weight was 218 kg (480 lbs). On the day of my surgery, I weighed 180 kg (397 lbs). Today, about five months later, I weigh 156 kg (344 lbs).
I know my progress may look significant on paper, but the reality is that I'm a very slow loser. Every day is still a battle with hunger, and for months I've been eating around 1,500 - 1,800 calories a day.
Recently, I started taking Ozempic again, and thankfully it has made a huge difference. The constant hunger has become much more manageable, and I'm now averaging around 1,400 calories per day.
Despite the struggles, I feel so much better. I wear clothes I actually enjoy, I fit comfortably in regular chairs again, and moving around has become so much easier.
The strange part? Nobody seems to notice the weight I've lost. It's not just that people don't comment, they genuinely don't seem to recognize that I've changed, even people who haven't seen me in six months.
But that's okay. I'm not doing this for other people's validation. I'll keep going, one step at a time, and I hope to reach my goal weight.
