This is the list of most rapidly aging countries.
For all of them it does not bode well.
Only a few of them have become "rich before they grow old".
Some of them still have a few decades in the "demographic dividend" phase of the demographic transition.
Many of them would be OK if they just had less population but it was heavy on young, innovative, working, child bearing people supporting a tiny percentage of aged dependent.
Instead for any country on the above list, get ready for a very difficult future.

Israel Fertility Rates (2000-2025) by Population Sector

  • Israel continues to be the only country in the OECD to have above replacement fertility.
  • Israel is one of the very few countries with above replacement fertility that has stabilized its average fertility rate.
  • All religious segments (except “others/not classified”) in Israel increased in fertility just slightly during 2025 compared to 2024. Unsurprisingly Israeli fertility as a whole also increased slightly.
  • Israeli Jews continue, on average, to noticeably have the highest fertility rate compared to other sectors in Israel.
  • The gap between Jewish and Muslim fertility continues to slowly grow in 2025 even though the Muslim birth rate didn't decline that year as it has been trending to do.
