I've been reading Mccarthy for years and am currently reading Suttree for the first time. There are a lot of words that I haven’t ever encountered before and I find myself just moving along without looking them up. Mostly they are just descriptive so they aren’t fundamental to the plot or anything.

Do others do the same ? or do you look up the words you don’t know? also, is he making up a bunch of these words as he goes along?
