Demon Creation
Something I’ve been curious about for a little while:
When Kokushibo converts Kaigaku into a demon, he mentions that it takes varying amounts of time based on the Demon Slayer. He also mentions that in some rare cases, people just “can’t” become demons.
Both of these statements interest me.
For one, this implies that at least one other breathing user has been turned prior to Kaigaku and after Koku. Otherwise he would have just told Kaigaku it would be 3 days. Obviously this breathing user (or users) is now dead, but I am curious as to what kind and when it would have happened. I think you could even expound upon the thought a little, and reign in people who believe Kaigaku, given more time, would have beaten Akaza and claimed UM 3 at least. Well, if my theory is correct, that there indeed were other breath using demons over the past several centuries, they were either killed by Hashira (and therefore not on Akaza’s level) or challenged him and failed. It would seem to indicate a breath user becoming a demon does not automatically equal greatness.
As for people who can’t become demons; anyone got any theories? I can’t imagine it’s tied to physical strength, even though Muzan likes to say stuff like “can you withstand the amount of blood I’m giving you”, and Daki, Gyutaro, and Akaza were all basically at death’s door when converted. Blood type related? Marechi blood? Maybe, but then again demons crave Marechi so it doesn’t seem incompatible. I have other thoughts but don’t want to ramble. Thoughts?
