[Complete] [134k] [Fantasy] The Lost and the Lonely

The Lost and the Lonely is a character driven fantasy novel focused on themes of personal transformation, the power of belief, and self-discovery. It follows four adventurers, drawn together by chance as they enlist with a guild and are dispatched to look into a rash of bandit raids. It isn't long before it becomes clear that their prey has far larger ambitions than simple banditry.

Despite the dramatic trappings, the tone is often light-hearted and focused on the developing comradery of the main characters as they navigate the transitional state of their lives. Romance blossoms, friendships solidify, and paths are laid for brighter futures. Also there's a wizard cat.

No major trigger warnings except for some potential light body-horror very late in the story, and the central plot involves the kidnapping of a child, though no scenes of violence towards said child are present.

I'm pretty open availability wise. I just wrapped another project and spend most evenings reading or writing anyway.

Here's a brief excerpt:

>“I sought to serve our gods. I was taught that it was the gods moving through us that healed.” Wygrahf spoke with gravity, staring at the fire.

“I don’t believe that. We give so much credit to the gods and it's your hands that did the healing. Your time. Your sweat and blood,” Sophie had grown serious. Molly assumed this was a common thought for her. She’d likely have strong opinions on the divine, given her upbringing.

“I agree, now.” Wygrahf replied simply. “I will say no more on the matter.”
