From observation, it feels that many (not all or the majority) black Namibians don't care about keeping our country or towns clean. They easily toss trash out their car windows, or leave trash where they were gathering or waiting (like at hike/lift spots).
Is it a cultural thing? I grew up learning that you don't do that. You put your trash in the bin. You never chuck something out a car window. When we went for a walk, my dad would pick up any trash he saw on the road and encourage us to do the same.
Often, when I confront someone about it, they just say that someone will pick it up.
If my observation is unfounded, I don't mind being corrected.
How can we turn this around?
