does anyone else get randomly hungry right before bed?

ive noticed that even when i eat a decent dinner, i sometimes get super hungry around 10 or 11pm. not even craving junk food specifically, just genuinely feeling like i need another meal lol.

the weird part is that on days when i eat less, it doesn't always happen. sometimes its actually worse on days when ive eaten plenty.

im wondering if its related to stress, meal timing, or maybe not getting enough protein during the day.

does anyone else have this? do you just eat something before bed or try to ignore it?

NovaaLab products after 6 months of use, still worth buying?

Hi everyone, I've been using the Novaa Light Pad and Novoral Care Pro for about six months, so I thought I'd share my experience. I bought them because I spend most of my day at a desk, which leaves me with neck and shoulder soreness, and I also wanted to improve my gum health without adding another routine. Before these, I tried the Lifepro AllevaRed Light Therapy Belt, but it just didn't fit into my routine very well and I wasn't as happy with it, so I decided to switch to Novaa instead.

🏆 Novaa Light Pad (my favorite) - I noticed the results more and it's the one I reach for most. If I had to keep one, it'd be this one.

🪥 Novoral Care Pro - this one surprised me, it was easy to stick with. only adds like 5 minutes to my evening routine, and my gums feel better.

The first few weeks felt like too much work. but I kept using it because the instructions said consistency matters, and after about a month I started noticing that I recovered a bit faster after long workdays. Six months later, I wouldn't say my pain disappeared, but I do feel less stiff if I've been sitting all day and my gums feel better.

Novaa Light Pad:

I personally liked 👍

  • Helped with my neck, shoulder, and knee soreness after work and workouts.
  • Easy to use while watching TV.
  • Battery life is solid.
  • Feels well made and portable.

What I disliked 👎

  • The treatment area feels a little small for larger body parts.
  • I had to use it for a very long time to actually feel the difference

My tip: I got the best results using it directly on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes, about 5 times a week.

Novoral Care Pro:

What I liked👍

  • Very easy to fit into my evening routine after brushing.
  • My gums feel less sensitive than they used to.
  • Only takes about 5 minutes per session.
  • Compact and easy to travel with.

What I disliked 👎

  • I didn't notice much during the first couple of weeks.
  • The mouth tray took a few days to get used to.

One tip: clean the tray after every use and try to use it daily. The results seemed much more noticeable after the first month.

My overall thoughts are that I'm glad I ended up buying both. The Novaa Light Pad has become a product i really use after long workdays or gym, while the Novoral Care Pro is just part of my evening routine now. Neither one felt like an quick fix, but the improvements were gradual and steady enough that I still use both several times a week. They're also some of the few wellness gadgets I haven't forgotten about after the first month.

Has anyone else here been using NovaaLab products for a while? I'd be interested to hear what your experience has been and whether you've noticed any other benefits over time.

Comparing the best red light therapy mats in 2026

I used to be very skeptical about red light therapy, but after a few spa sessions my muscles felt less tense and recovery got faster. The spa bills started adding up though, so I went looking for an at home option. After a lot of researching, here are the best red light therapy mats that kept coming up as the best in 2026:

Novaa Light Pad XL  - the one I leaned toward as the overall best.

Hooga Red Light Therapy Acupressure Mat - the most budget friendly.

Novaa Deep Healing Pad -  the smallest and most portable.

HigherDOSE Full Body Red Light Mat - the full body option.

MitoQUAD Wavelength Belt - the hands-free belt option.

My quick breakdown of best red light therapy mats:

Novaa Light Pad XL
Pros: Sweet spot for me between size, power, and certifications, high number of red and near-infrared LEDs, well-built and durable mat, easy-to-use remote
Cons: not the cheapest, doesn't cover the whole body in one go.
Features:
-Combines clinically studied wavelengths in one device, with 1,200 LEDs total covering large areas in a single session.
-At 19.7" x 23.6" but only 1.9 lbs, it's big enough for the back or legs while still being portable.
-Backed by FDA clearance plus CE and RoHS certifications, so the quality side feels solid.

Hooga Red Light Therapy Acupressure Mat
Pros: cheapest on the list, combines red light with acupressure spikes, dual wavelengths (660 nm + 850 nm), 144 dual-chip LEDs, 3 year warranty and 60 day refund, coverage is decent for the price so makes sense if your main goal is pain management on a budget
Cons: brand doesn't openly mention certifications, only 144 LEDs so coverage is limited, spikes can feel uncomfortable.
Features:
-A 2 in 1 product that combines traditional acupressure with modern red light therapy.
-The acupressure spikes target pressure points to help reduce pain and support recovery, while the 144 dual chip LEDs deliver red (660 nm) and near-infrared (850 nm) light at the same time.

Novaa Deep Healing Pad
Pros: tiny and light (0.6 lbs, 16.3" x 7.9"), 450 LEDs with 660 nm + 850 nm, FDA-cleared, CE and RoHS certified, 60-day refund. Good for targeted use on a knee or lower back, or for travel.
Cons: limited coverage, can slide around if you walk with it.
Features:
-The smallest mat on the list at 16.3" x 7.9" and just 0.6 lbs, ideal for targeted treatment or travel.
-Despite the compact size, it packs 450 LEDs with the same red (660 nm) and near-infrared (850 nm) dual-wavelength setup as the bigger Novaa.
-Carries FDA clearance plus CE and RoHS certifications.

HigherDOSE Full Body Red Light Mat
Pros: largest treatment area (78.7" x 41.37"), 1,000 LEDs (660 nm + 850 nm), flexible and rollable, 120-day refund.
Cons: most expensive by a lot, no certifications specified, heavy at 15 lbs.
Features:
-By far the biggest mat here (78.7" x 41.37") with 1,000 LEDs, designed for full-body coverage in a single session.
-Flexible and rollable, so it doubles as a yoga mat for stretching or meditation and can even be hung up for ambient lighting.
-The trade-off is the weight (15 lbs) and no certifications specified for this product. The "premium" full body experience if you have the space and budget.

MitoQUAD Wavelength Belt
Pros: highest LED count (1,215) with TriChip tech, 4 wavelengths (630, 660, 810, 850 nm), hands-free belt design, only 1.2 lbs, built to IEC 60601 medical-grade standards.
Cons: small treatment area, some users report malfunctions, only 1 year warranty.

Features:
-An ultra-dense LED layout with 405 diodes that, thanks to TriChip technology, deliver 1,215 LED chips total – the highest count on this list.
-Offers four wavelengths (630 and 660 nm red, plus 810 and 850 nm near-infrared) instead of the usual two.
-The belt format (50" x 7", with a 22" x 5" treatment area) is built for handsfree, targeted sessions and meets IEC 60601 medical-grade safety standards.

After all this, my personal lean is the Novaa Light Pad XL – dual wavelengths, 1,200 LEDs, proper certifications, and a manageable weight checked the most boxes without going full premium. When it comes to the best red light therapy mats in 2026, it sits at the top of my list for good reason. That said, the Hooga is tempting for the acupressure combo, the HigherDOSE makes sense for full-body, the Deep Healing Pad is a great "second device" for travel, and the MitoQUAD Belt stands out for hands-free use. If you're still weighing up the best red light therapy mats in 2026, your pick really comes down to what you need it for.
Anyone here actually noticed a long-term difference with these mats, or is it more of a nice to have routine thing? Open to other mats I might have missed too.

Where to watch the World Cup for free?

Got a few messages about where to watch the World Cup for free, so I put this together. I’ve tested the basic setup on Windows and Android because I wanted a simple way to watch matches without bouncing between random links.
If you’re outside a country with official free coverage, geo-blocks are usually the problem. A VPN can help you access official free World Cup streams that are limited to specific countries.

How to use a VPN to watch the World Cup 2026 for free:

  1. Choose a VPN and install it on your device, I chose NordVPN (Now 76% off) create account or sign in
  2. Connect to a server in a country with free World Cup coverage
  3. Open the broadcaster website or app
  4. Sign up for a free account if required
  5. Start the match stream

Where to stream the World Cup for free:

  • UK: BBC iPlayer and ITVX
  • Australia: SBS On Demand
  • Belgium: RTBF Auvio and VRT MAX
  • Brazil: CazéTV on YouTube
  • Netherlands: NOS
  • Poland: TVP Sport
  • Switzerland: Play SRF, Play RSI, Play RTS
  • Türkiye: TRT and tabii

Best picks if you want English commentary:

  • UK: BBC iPlayer and ITVX
  • Australia: SBS On Demand

Some of my notes before you start: some platforms ask for a free account, some ask for a local postal code during signup, browser access is usually easier than mobile or TV apps and not every free broadcaster shows every match the same way in every region

What to do if the World Cup stream isn’t working with a VPN:

-Switch to another server in the same country

-Clear cookies and cache

-Open the site in incognito mode

-Try the website instead of the app

-Check if that broadcaster actually has the match you want

-Turn off GPS or location permissions on mobile

-Check for DNS or WebRTC leaks

-Update the VPN app

-Try a different browser or device

-Create the streaming account before connecting to the VPN if possible

Quick note on devices: browser on a laptop is genuinely the easiest setup across the board. Mobile apps work too but some of them check GPS on top of your IP, so revoking location permissions in your phone settings helps a lot. Smart TVs and Roku are the most painful because they don't support VPN apps natively, if that's your situation, mirroring from your phone or running an HDMI cable from a laptop is the easier workaround.

I'm still curious what people here found to be the least painful option when figuring out where to watch the World Cup for free. Which free World Cup stream worked best for you, and which VPN setup was getting blocked?
