Problem with the referral program
Hi. I’d been telling my partner for a while that they should look into opening an interest-bearing account, and with Trade Republic’s recent 3% promotion, they finally decided to take the plunge.
The problem is that when I sent them my referral link and they tried to enter their phone number to start the account creation process, the SMS they were supposed to receive never arrived, and this has been going on for days.
I’ve spoken with Trade Republic’s new human support team, and beyond the usual advice to restart the phone, check the signal, make sure there isn’t an existing account with that number, and so on, they haven’t suggested anything we haven’t already tried, nor have they provided a solution.
I’d like to know if anyone who has created a new account since the 13th (when the promotion started) or who has referred a friend has experienced something similar and if they were able to resolve it, so I can determine whether my partner’s case is an isolated incident or a general issue with the platform.
