Why do you think Makima is "wrong"? Or a better question, why do you think Makima is worse than pochita? (Manga Spoilers)
Other than psychologically torturing and grooming a 16 year old, I don't see why Makima is seen as THE (literal) Devil. Is she a good person? Fuck no she's an evil bitch. But is she really THAT bad? We are willing to excuse a person who blew up half of a city (yes she was manipulated. But wasn't Makima as well? The Japanese government shaped her specifically to be the best leader possible). We are also willing to excuse Denji who has also killed A LOT of innocent people through collateral damage. And unlike everyone I mentioned, Makima did that for a greater reason. Why not make a world that's not as absolutel dogshit as Chainsawman? The answer is simple, free will. No individual has the right to establish their desires onto the whole world (an argument can be made that a lot of people do that already. Every powerful devil, countries, governments and rich bastards constantly force their own desires onto people weaker than them. Makima ignoring consent one time so that no one can ever ignore anyone's consent ever again sounds like a good idea but i digress). But pochita did the exact same when he ate himself. He shaped not only Denji's but who knows how many people's lives just because of he thought that what Denji needed without asking for ANYONE'S permission.
