Mid ride crisis. Questioning triumph's spare parts availablity in SVCs and RSA's efficiency

If you don't wanna read the whole story, get to the bottom to recieve my insights : )

I own a triumph speed 400. I bought it on August 2024. But today (19th May 2026) I was on a long ride and in the middle of the ride the bike turned off automatically. When i tried turning on the bike, all I could hear was a tick sound. I contacted the RSA, but no proper response was given. I called the NHAI toll free number, and the patrol vehicle arrived and gave me the contact number of the local towing vehicle number. I had to spend Rs. 4000 in order to bring the bike to the nearest service center that was 96 kms away.

At the showroom after checking they said that the coil (part that powers up the battery) must be replaced. And I had to wait in that particular city for two days because of the unavailability of the spare part.

In case you don't wanna read the whole story, read this

  1. No efficiency in RSA's service, then what is the point in paying extra for it?

2)Lesson learnt: NHAI responds quicker. If you're on highways and you are stuck in the middle of nowhere, open google maps -> switch to the street view -> move within the area you are in on map and look for the local toll free numbers on the information boards on the middle of the highways with the 360° photos.

Things would've been better if,

  1. RSA gave proper response

  2. the TRIUMPH showrooms were equipped with the proper number of spares (in my case, if the showroom had the spare part (coil), it's just 15 minutes of work)

BTW they changed the coil under warranty.

This happened in Tamilnadu, India
