Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Your thoughts?

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Your thoughts?

This is my favourite Castlevania game, I think the main character is very good, and his story is compelling! I dislike that they ditched the beautiful artwork of this game for the anime style of Dawn of Sorrow, but otherwise that game is very good as well! I think the Metroidvania style of game is superior to the classicvania style of the older games

I've had a change of Heart on this one after a rewatch

I've definitely been too harsh on this film and alot of other Vampire films, Would you believe that this one has the highest rotten tomatoes score out of the three films? Yeah. Higher than Dracula 2000 and Dracula II: Ascension

I really like the ending, and the Transylvania setting is better for a Dracula movie instead of New Orleans like the first two entries.

I would have liked if Stephen Billington reprised the role of Dracula from Ascension, but I think Rutger Hauer is pretty good too. A very fun Vampire movie with a solid ending! 🩸🦇

Your thoughts on Priest?

Vampires and humans have been at war for centuries, takes place in an uber religious society, it is loosely based off of a Korean comic with the same name, and that same comic inspired the boomer shooter Blood apparently, so that's pretty cool!

The Vampires in this movie are strange, there is only one traditional human Vampire, and the rest are like weird eyeless alien beasts, like something Ben 10 would turn into

I definitely reccomend it if you are looking for mind numbing action, which might sound like not a good thing for a movie, but we all need a nice movie to turn our brains off and just go primal with, rule of cool y'know?

John Carpenter Presents Vampires: Los Muertos

Released September 25th 2002, My Number 1 Fave Vampire movie, I can't really explain why without this being novel length lol What are your thoughts on it? I think it is vastly superior to the awful james woods first film, most importantly more likable characters.

Bon Jovi is Vampire Hunter Derek Bliss, and he teams up with Zoey, a young woman who is mid-transition into becoming a Vampire but staving it off by taking special medication, he also teams up with a young Diego Luna (years before Andor fame) who is trying to learn to fight Vampires to earn money for his family, there are two other characters, Ray Collins who is played by Darius McCrary, and Father Rodrigo who is played by Cristián de la Fuente. An awesome cast of characters imo

It doesn't have any asshole characters like the first one (Cough James Woods Cough)

And the main Vampire villain, Una, is played by Arly Jover, who plays Mercury in Blade 1998

I reccomend this movie! Also, I have never seen the sequel to this, Vampires: The Turning, but that one isn't really connected to this film or the first so it can be seen on it's own, which also applies to this one as events from the first film are barely mentioned

Thoughts on Carmilla, the story? Either having read it physically or having listened to an audio version

It's a little bit different from Dracula, and much more of a love story when compared to Dracula, even if Carmilla's intentions towards Laura can be a little up in the air, I've seen people interpret it different ways. There are way less movies about Carmilla, and I can't think of a popular adaptation of it like there is with Dracula 1931 With Bela Lugosi or 1958's Dracula with Christopher Lee. I hope there is a true adaptation of Carmilla one day that does it justice! (And also one for Dracula that actually follows all the events of the book lol)

An amazing movie, Sir Christopher Lee is the best Dracula imo, but I can't find any instance before this movie of Dracula being called "Prince of Darkness" like he is labled in so many modern pieces of media, I don't even think the book called him that. Interesting!

No Dracula adaptation truly adapts the book 1 to 1, they all are different in their own ways, but this one always stands out to me. Vampire movies were changed forever when this came out. It isn't really that close to the book, there are alot of differences, but everything else makes up for that 100%

The best Van Helsing, The most iconic Dracula next to Bela Lugosi, and all in never before seen Bloody dripping colour! 🩸

All Hail the Prince of Darkness!
