Best outdoor basketball shoes for ACTUAL outdoor courts?
I've been running outdoor pickup games a bunch of times a week on standard asphalt and ngl im having a rly hard time making these basketball shoes survive the outdoor play conditions lmao.
- Ive noticed the rubber outsole grip dies within weeks or use. First the blunting then just burning through it. Asphalt is brutal with rubber so shoes that probably do rly well in the gym or as indoor shoes will perform terribly in the outdoors after a while.
- Cushioning is gone by month 3?? There's actual research showing that midsole foam compressions set in significantly faster under repeated high impact use on hard surfaces. But outdoor asphalt is wayyy different than indoor hardwood in every way so the performance models should be different too right???
- Also the weight thing compounds and becomes a bigger problem than youd anticipate. Heavier shoes might FEEL more stable with more ankle support in store but after a 2 hr outdoor run time in summer heat you feet are cooked bro.
Here are a few options i looked into that im NOT A FAN of.
- Adidas Harden Vol 7: court feel is loved by most, outdoor asphalt usage garners similar complaints after extended use
- Under armour curry 11: cushioning gets praised constantly but some players say the traction pattern doesn't translate well to dusty or gritty outdoors. Idk tho
- New balance two WXY v5 : solid all round rep but sizing seems to be an issue. This post isnt abt issues other than outdoor setting sole issues so ill save this detail for another time
So… does anybody wanna help meeee?? I need to know what yall pick in specs for outdoor basketball games
