Do I have gum disease?
Hello I am a 22 year old female.
I have been having horrible dental issues consistently for the last year. 3 tooth infections on 3 of my second molars (19, 31, and 14). Had 2 root canals in each of them, apicoectomy in one after failed retreat, and a fracture in 14 which I just had extracted yesterday.
I've had this awful taste of infection in my mouth for so long, it usually gets less or goes away after treatment. The first two times 14 was given a root canal I noticed it went away for a few days but ultimately came back (because the fracture). Though this time after extraction I notice no difference and my throat is extra sore. I know it can take time to go away but this feels like another infection somewhere in my mouth but I dont know where. They didnt give me more antibiotics since I just took some 3 weeks ago last retreat.
Was wondering if my gums could be infected? Worried about periodontal disease mostly, if its just gingivitis I can live with that since its reversible.
I was just at endo yesterday and they said to give it a few days, but I go on a trip to see family tomorrow for 11 days. I have an appointment the day after I return for a cleaning and was planning on asking them about my gums then, but I am worried now so I wanted to ask here.
TL;DR
I (22F) just want to know if my gums look okay or if I could have gingivitis or predontal disease. Currently receiving dental/endo care but going on a trip so cant ask them about my gums till Im back.
