Does it hurt less than a bare fist? I know they’re designed more to protect the puncher’s fist than the punchee’s face, but it seems like it would have to dull the pain to a degree for boxing matches to last as long as they do. I’ve felt some gloves that are much softer than others, I’d assume that would make a difference but when something is coming at you with that much force, maybe it doesnt? It seemed like in pro matches a long time ago, the gloves looked a lot softer than they do now, was that true and how did that affect the experience?
