Joe Bob Writing Intro to New Stephen King/Ben Percy Book
This is cool news. Love seeing Joe Bob being brought in for something like this. Can’t wait to read what he has to say.

Hey mutants!
Had the pleasure of visiting the Delsea Drive-In Theater in Vineland, NJ last night for an excellent double feature of "Obsession" and "Backrooms". My local comic shop owner says the kids are calling that a back session 🤣
This was my first time ever to a drive-in and it was magical. Also a little melancholic, as it's the last and only drive-in left in Jersey. They played a PSA about it that had the gravity of an endangered species ad, I almost cried.
For a Sunday night quite a crowd was there! This a 2 screen drive-in, the 2nd show played "Masters of the Universe" and "Scary Movie 6". Back sessions definitely drew the bigger crowd.
As far as the movies go, I thought both were great! On a letterboxd scale I'd give em both a 3.5. I jumped out of my lawn chair during the Backrooms opening.
What did y'all think of these films? I wonder what Joe Bob would think of Backrooms in particular.
Roger Corman had a gift for taking someone else's basic concept and making something cheaper, but just as enjoyable. This movie was not a Corman picture, but it was distributed by Drive-In Workhorse, American International Pictures. This is a cash-in on the success of Carrie, but instead of Telekinesis,, Jennifer has a psychic power to communicate with and control snakes. Her father (Jeff Corey) is a strict Pentecostal from Appalachia who now owns a pet shop. Okay, Mutants, you can see where we are going with this. The Private School bullies are actually better developed in my opinion, than in Carrie. Throw in Bert Convy and Psycho's John Gavin , and Nina Foch, and you have a hearty Drive-In Stew. I saw this on Livingston Presents, but I'm sure you can find it in several places. Check it out!
Sorry, guys. I should have put this up a few days ago. My apologies. But ... Joe Bob has moved his newsletter to Substack. You can subscribe for free, and it will keep you up to date on all things Joe Bob. We think you'll really enjoy this more robust format.
Another quick note. If you're already subscribed to his old Propaganda email list, don't worry. You've been automatically enrolled. We've got your back!
I couldn't get a ticket for the Austin shows and have had no luck finding a resale one. I was curious since it's at a theater instead of a con where you pay for admission, is it possible to maybe just go to the lobby to buy merch and then leave?
The wife and I are and are excited about it. Her birthday is in May and mine is in June so this is how we're celebrating both of them. We're also going to swing by the gas station in Bastrop where they filmed the Texas Chain Saw Massacre for some BBQ while we're up there.
Creepshow 2 is one of my favorites and was wondering if Joe Bob ever played this movie recently or in the past for any of his other shows?
There is discussion around why movies are removed due to licensing rights expiring. I understand that. And in Canada, it seems even more movies are absent.
That being said, while someone commented that a Coffin Joe movie had been reposted, it is not in Canada. However, I did see a couple posted that I was never able to see when I started binging 3 years ago and Freakmaker was one!
I guess I am glad to see that Canada is not an afterthought for Canada.
And great to see Doctor Who as the freak owner. Where are the Daleks?
