Is the current placement optimum for the room size, how can i know the angle at which the side firing speakers will output sound so that i can avoid placing a acoustic panel at that place?

Hey everyone,I recently bought the Samsung Q990F soundbar (11.1.4 setup). The system relies on wall reflections from both the main bar and rear speakers to create side-channel effects.The issue is my room is almost completely empty—just a TV, the soundbar, and a chair. It’s basically turned into an echo chamber, and the subwoofer is especially overwhelming and unpleasant to listen to.I’d prefer not to add furniture, curtains, or bookshelves to fix this. From what I’ve read, installing rockwool acoustic panels seems like a good solution, and I’m planning to DIY them.I could really use some advice:What size and thickness should the panels be?Where should I place them for the best results (walls, behind speakers, etc.)?Any general tips to improve sound quality in a minimal room like mine?Thanks in advance for any help!
