We’re planning a brunch (11am - 3pm) restaurant buyout wedding in Toronto. The restaurant is a mix of indoors & patio.

We were set on a date in mid-August due to its sentimental value, but photographers say that August midday is the worst time to take photos. The “first look” portraits would be at 9am, but the sun would be high up already due to time of year.

We’re planning to spend a significant amount of our budget on photography, so I don’t want to set us up to fail or make their job impossible.

If anyone’s had a midday wedding, how did your photos turn out? Should we book a date in September or October instead?
