Looking for suggestions for walleye shore fishing this weekend (May, post spawn)

Going to a big ol’ lake for the weekend. Walleye is post spawn and going to try to fish for them from the shore. I did some research on it and got gear to prep but have never done it myself. Happy to target other fish too if it’s a happy accident. Any tips?

Gear I’ll use: 6’6 Ugly Stik GX2 combo, 20lb braid, minnow swim bait, rapala jerk bait.

I’ll have the tackle box with me and the Mrs all weekend so not limited to what’s above. I can also get something before the trip too if needed.

Changing my spark plugs and ignition coils after work today. I have the torque wrenches and tools for the job and watched a lot of YouTube videos. Anything I should know last minute or tips? Thank you!

Renting a row boat to fish all day on Saturday. Never done this before. What to do to prepare?

Renting a row boat with the Mrs and going fishing from 8a-4p on a pond. Looks like the pond is quite active but I’ve never fished from a row boat before. Any suggestions?

I know I am going to hit the bait store before and go get a sun shirt for the day. Probably spending all day on the water and going to bring with lunch.

How do you prepare for a weekend trip?

New to fishing this season and setting aside next weekend to go fishing the whole time. What do you do to prepare? Specifically looking for advice on finding a good spot for the whole day, gear / food / other things to bring, and if a kayak rental is worth it? Typically a shore fisher.

Thank you in advance!

New angler this season. Fished a little as a kid but my dad always got the hooks out of the fish. Now I am finally catching fish as an adult and being a little bit of a wuss about getting hooks out LOL. I just have my fiance help out but I eventually want to fish on my own. How do I get better at taking hooks out and not having my hand stabbed by a hook or fish?
