Tires

My girlfriend just got a 2024 CX-30 with about 40k miles on it. I am the one who encouraged her to get the mazda, because I’ve been eyeing the hatchback 3 for years. The CX-30 appears to be a lifted 3, but it’s making me want a turbo 3 lol.

Anyway, I think it could use new tires. We live in the PNW so I wanted something that can handle rain, and a little snow/ice. Also some tires that we could take camping. Not going to be crazy off roading, but tires that can handle gravel and dirt roads without worry.

We have the 2.5 s select sport, so the wheels are 18 inches. Would getting smaller wheels be a better choice because I can get bigger tires? Does anyone know any tires that fit my needs on the 18 inch wheels? I believe the tires are stock right now, and they look sketchy to take down gravel roads especially with the 40k on them.

RAISING SEAT HEIGHT IN '26 CX30 CARBON US

I find it very difficult to get in or out of the passenger seat of my new Mazda Carbon. The driver's side no problem. The passenger seat can be adjusted forward and backward with lever, and the back can be adjusted. But nothing for height? Am I missing something?

Mazda cx30 fee seems high?

Hello

I'm located in canada and looking to get a cx30. I got the quote for CX30 GS, Freight & admin fee seems high rounding upto $3000.

I checked with dealership, from what they mentioned this comes from Mazda and they have no control over it.

I want to get some thoughts and understand if that's what Mazda is charging canada or if its a dealership fee?

Thanks in advance!

TheRP M range where the CX-30 feels best

I've noticed some engines seem happiest in a certain RPM range where everything feels smooth and responsive. For CX-30 owners, is there a specific RPM range where you feel the engine really comes alive?

I'm curious whether people have noticed the same thing across different model years and engine options.

I made my own lower grille insert

Since no one is selling a full lower grille for cars with no front license plate, I designed and printed my own grille. They make the car look complete, fit really well and >!are!< attached with clips instead of tape which makes for a very easy installation and removable!

If anyone is interested, I can sell these.

What is the best way to clean a speedometer?

Hi!

I'm having an issue with the speedometer glass. No matter what I use to clean it, it gets scratched really easily. Even a microfiber cloth leaves micro-scratches. What's the best way to clean it? What do you guys use?

Which cleaning products should I use. Any recommendation?

For now I am using just warm water for cleaning surfaces and vacuuming/ brushing for seats.
On right door plastic I have these line marks and I can’t wipe them off. I don’t know what caused this. Any tips?

Chipped the back door. 1mm. color code 25D

how do i restore this? search on chatgpt and they told me the following thing. help me.

1. Touch-up paint (most important)
If your paint code turns out to be A4D Arctic White, I’d buy the genuine Mazda paint.
Best choice:
Or you can get the genuine Mazda kit from a Mazda dealer such as Crayford Mazda Accessories for around £14.
If you haven’t confirmed the paint code yet, don’t order the paint just yet. First check the sticker in the driver’s door shut.

2. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
You’ll use this to remove wax, dirt and grease.
Around £5–8.

3. Microfibre cloth
Around £2–3.

4. Cocktail sticks
Yes, ordinary wooden cocktail sticks.
Around £1.
The cocktail stick gives much more control than the brush that comes with the paint.

Total cost
Touch-up paint: £13–14
IPA: £6
Cloth: £2
Cocktail sticks: £1
Total: about £22.
That’s enough supplies for years of stone chips.

Step-by-step repair
Step 1 – Wash
Wash the area with car shampoo.
Dry completely.

Step 2 – Remove the red transfer
The red marks in your photo look like paint from the bin.
Put a little IPA on a microfiber cloth.
Rub gently.
If it doesn’t come off, don’t force it.

Step 3 – Clean the chip
Put a little IPA on the end of a cocktail stick or microfiber cloth.
Clean inside the chip.
Wait 5 minutes.

Step 4 – Shake the paint
Shake the bottle for 2–3 minutes. Mazda paint pigments settle quickly, and thorough mixing helps the colour match.

Step 5 – Don’t use the brush
Unscrew the bottle.
Dip the tip of the cocktail stick into the paint.
You only want a tiny droplet.

Step 6 – Fill the chip
Touch the paint into the centre of the chip.
Don’t brush.
Don’t smear.
Just let the paint flow off the cocktail stick.
You should still be able to see the edges of the chip.
If it looks like a blob, you’ve used too much.

Step 7 – Let it dry
Leave it for 20–30 minutes (or follow the instructions on the paint).
Do not touch it.

Step 8 – Second coat
Look closely.
If the chip has sunk below the surrounding paint, repeat the process.
Usually 2–3 thin coats are enough.

Step 9 – Leave it alone
After the final coat:
don’t wash the car for about a week
don’t polish it
don’t wax it
Let it fully harden.

Things NOT to do
❌ Don’t sand it.
❌ Don’t use a cotton bud.
❌ Don’t paint outside the chip.
❌ Don’t use one thick coat.
❌ Don’t polish immediately afterwards.

One extra tip for your specific chip
Your chip is on the sharp edge of the rear door. Gravity will try to pull the paint down the edge.
When applying the paint:
Hold the door closed.
Apply one tiny drop.
Wait about 30 seconds to make sure it isn’t running before adding any more.
That will give you the cleanest result.
Before you buy the paint…
Can you check the sticker in the driver’s door jamb and send me a photo? I want to confirm whether your CX-30 is A4D Arctic White or 25D Snowflake White Pearl, because using the wrong white will be noticeable even on a tiny chip.

What should I know?

Alright, so I've had my mind made up and heart set on getting a new Honda HRV since abt March. BUT, for some reason I keep coming back to Mazda. I had initially crossed them off my list for three major reasons: the cargo space in the CX30 is actually less then what I have now in a '12 focus hatchback, bc the remote start is behind a paywall after the first year, and I simply dont know much about Mazda in general other than "Zoom Zoom". But since I keep coming back to brand, I've decided to un-cross them from my list and go deeper in my research.

It seems a new CX30 aire edition (non-turbo) would be the best option for me. Besides this post, my next step is watching 1001 youtube videos, and then definitely to get behind the wheel of the CX30 to really see if it fits.

Heres where I need your help: what should I know about Mazdas in general and specifically the CX30? What do you dislike about it? What do you wish you'd known before purchasing? Anything thats annoying or wish theyd change? Any recent recalls or issues that multiple people seem be having? Need to know maintenance schedule? Quirks and concerns?

And if you were comparing the HRV and CX30 before, what made you go with the CX30 in the end?

Thanks so much!

Would you choose a newer (2022-2023) CX-30 over a 2019 UX250h?

Basically what a car for less than 20,000€ that I will use for the highway and sometimes in the city. Although sedans should be better I want a CUV.

On the highway at 75mph/120kmph constant speed on paper the Lexus should be better - quieter and more smooth over bumps but is this accurate if you have driven both?

I am usually biased of the older car in this case the Lexus but the community promises at least 10 more years of high quality driving yet I think Mazdas tend to be a dark horse on the comfort+reliability+repair cost scale as they are more comfortable than a Toyota, don't have as many things to break as in a Lexus and even if something breaks its cheaper (even here in Europe).

Now one thing to note is that on the highway (3-4) drives per month everyone says the Lexus because of better seats and more floating experience will make a driver significantly less tired after a 4-5 hour drive but is it true though. As Mazda owners do you feel tired or overwhelmed by micro adjustments in steering after a 4-5 hour drive?

Now another alternative (this changes the core question completely) is to risk it all for a 2017 GLA (tend to lose value quicker than a Lexus which obviously is a sign) but I have the feeling it will be much more expensive and not more comfortable than a CX-30? What do you think?

New (to me) CX30

Drove a 2010 Mazda3 for 13 years until it got totaled last month. Got this 2020 Preferred last week and I'm loving it.

Thinking of upgrading from CX-30.

Currently own a 2022 CX-30 Preferred. Thinking of giving it to my mom to replace her beater and getting myself a 2024 CX-90 Preferred. The CX-90 has the extra space that I've been missing with the CX-30 and still has good MPG. Anyone have any experience with the 2024 CX-90, any pros and cons besides the extra space?
