Inqtober 2026, day 6: Hrud Infestor

The mysterious race known as the Hrud do not conquer worlds through traditional means; instead they infest planetary sub-surfaces and cause catastrophic environmental devastation. Often working in seclusion from their foes for years at a time in cavern networks hundreds of klicks long, these Hrud Infestors hide themselves from sight by manipulating entropic fields. It is only when they decide to migrate in the hundreds of thousands, that they break through the substrate to emerge to the surface, causing massive societal and geographical collapses.

Inqtober 2026, day 5: Street Performer

Verity Zhiyang has always had an aptitude for acrobatics, and failing out of the Administratum intake school due to some kind of attention disorder made performance a natural progression. Every day, she pulls in crowds willing to cough up at least a couple Throne Gelt, enough to keep her in synthprotein noodles and pay off the enforcers that shake her down. But the crowds are starting to feel like her performances are bland, pushing her to incorporate sharpened blades, flaming torches, and even one enthusiastic Sororita’s chainsword, in an effort to stay thrilling.

Inqtober 2026, day 4: Sensei

Bearing the Mark of the Star Child, the man currently known as Warinus Jiraud has lived and died a dozen lives.  Sought heavily by the Inquisition, he fights a secret war against the horrors of the Immaterial- daemons that call him an Anathema, for his mysterious powers can bring them true death. He has accumulated a small band of loyal followers willing to follow his dangerous orders, companions whose lives he has touched in some way. But his enemies are many, and mighty.

Inqtober 2026, day 3: Beastfolk Servant

Labeled as Abhumans, Beastfolk are seen in more progressive areas of the Imperium of Man as servants, or put to use as cannon-fodder. Citizens consider brutish and stupid, and most people have little care for them. However, some make a point of how accepting they are- dressing them up, painting their horns and hooves, and (of course) equipping them with low-grade explosives, in case they become a danger or get ideas of ‘freedom’. These can be something of a showpiece, demonstrating what kind masters they are to such poor unfortunate sub-creatures.

Inqtober 2026, day 1: Ignoble Navigator

Amar Dodik should be a member of the great Navis Nobilite, but he was born from a House member who stole away for a quick shore-leave of a few hours, and never knew of his father. Though he was loved, his mutation made his life difficult, and those around him had a habit of dying whenever his terrible Third Eye opened. Now, he is just another unfortunate on the hive streets.  Should the House of his parentage discover him, he might find himself swept away to the stars- or exterminated as a rival.

I’m eagerly counting down the days until #Inqtober starts! How are other people managing- enough gubbinz in your bitz box, or planning some purchases to make up the parts? Or just a good excuse to pick up that kit you’ve been thinking about for ages?

Having just seen a post come up as recommended, I’ve jumped to joining the sub.

I’ve got a substantial collection of books dating back to when I started reading them in the 90s, not all of them, but some in good condition. I also recall that there was another tie-in novel that went with The Trolltooth Wars, but I can’t recall the title.

Thanks to a couple of enthusiastic prods, I've got some prompts together for this year's #Inqtober!

As always, if there's a prompt you don't understand, don't like, are not feeling the vibe of, then please make whatever is in your heart instead. The important thing here is to make Weird Little Guys together, not that you slavishly follow my suggestions!

The idea here is to make something you can use in an Inquisitor context- a model, a drawing, a piece of writing, whatever works for you- each day of October, with the suggestion of a prompt.

I saw the new scenario and knew what I had to do with my next creation… lots of water effects, tufts, and a use for some big ferns!

(I’ll get back to you on the scenario, I haven’t got that far yet!)

While I’m waiting for the water effects on the Bog board I made yesterday to set, here’s the board I made a couple of weekends ago.

I wanted to give this one some options, so I thought the stone bridge and the ford beside it could make for some fun interactions, particularly with Bashing.

With thanks to u/dragmyr for design of a Roll20 Battle Map a few years ago that helped me plan things out, I put together a much more dynamic board for a swashbuckling sword fight through cliff top ruins.

Not sure how well it will work in the end as it might end up being a bit crowded, but it was really fun to put together, and I learned a few new construction and painting techniques for it too, which have been really helpful for doing some other projects.

This is a pretty basic set of cards made up using the QuickStart rules on one side and the more complicated rules the other side, for teaching new players. I’m hoping to get in a game with some friends tomorrow, so I’ve tried to make these match the minis pretty easily, with spots to place Momentum and Damage tokens.

I designed this board to look a bit like a Buhurt or tournament field, which has been churned up by some heavy use. This is my first board with terrain, shortly to be followed by a much more dense, dynamic board.

With a background in Warhammer, Mordheim, and a literal cupboard filled with bits sprues including several WGA sets, I’ve thrown some stuff together and built a board so I can try to get some other friends into it - this looks like fun!
