What do you think? c&c welcome
With thanks to u/dragmyr for design of a Roll20 Battle Map a few years ago that helped me plan things out, I put together a much more dynamic board for a swashbuckling sword fight through cliff top ruins.
Not sure how well it will work in the end as it might end up being a bit crowded, but it was really fun to put together, and I learned a few new construction and painting techniques for it too, which have been really helpful for doing some other projects.
.. and with a nice ruleset! Ready to try the solo rules and show demo games at my local con (Helsinki, Ropecon)
EINVÍGI is taking shape.
Two warriors.
One hazel-bound ground.
No armies. No measuring tapes. No escape from the eyes of the witnesses.
This is a Norse duel game of oaths, blood, shame, and reputation — where every step matters, every strike has weight, and victory is not just about surviving.
One fighter may leave as Drengr.
One may be remembered as Níðingr.
Public playtesting begins soon.

Was great, he beat me in courage phase end of round 2. He understood the rules very well by the middle of the 2nd round.
I'm mainly thinking about preparing boards and playing areas for introductory games during our local club's open days.
I have a feeling it would be easier if the moves were on hexagonal grids. Of course, that only works if we're playing on paper boards, though...
What do you think?
I’m trying to use the 15mm knights from Time of Legends: Joan of arc in slotted bases. That way, measurements stay the same and when knights takes a hit, one of the 3 models is removed. For momentum I’m using stackable pieces from an old board game called Avalam Bitaka.
I’ve been working on a physical prototype board for EINVÍGI, a small Norse duel game I’m designing.
The idea is that two fighters meet on hazel-bound sacred ground, with the center acting as the main fighting space and the outer edge becoming the danger zone where a fighter can be driven out of the ring.
I’m trying to avoid a grid or normal ruler movement. Instead, the game uses a few fixed “Hazel Staves” for movement: short steps, longer rushes, and curved/circling movement.
The standing stones are meant to feel like witness stones around the duel ground, not actual terrain blocking movement.
Main thing I’m trying to figure out:
Does the board visually read as a clear duel arena?
Center ground, open fighting space, dangerous outer edge, sacred boundary, etc.
Still a prototype, but I’m pretty happy with the atmosphere so far. Curious what other people think before I keep refining it.
I heard about this game long time ago but yesterday I played my first game and it was probably the best experience with a wargame my friends had so far. We played using free quick stars rules from Patreon and now I have a few questions about the game:
1)What should I buy?
I know that it is impossible to buy physical rules from quickstarter (If only I’d found out about this game a little earlier, heh) and now it seems like I have two options - indietabletop site or Patreon, right? I know that patreon gives some additional benefits but I currently can't use Discord for work reasons so I won't use the chance to get there. Or I misunderstood the situation and the indietabletop is the correct way?
2)What size of miniatures do you use?
We tried to use space marines with 32mm bases and board felt a little bit to crowded. What could you recommend?
3)How do you decidewho rerolls first?
The information about dices available to your opponent is crucial for this decision and it felt like a staring game for a few minutes, when each of us waited for the opponents decision.
4)Endgame
Our first game had a few swing, but it the end we had 2v1 situation that moved to 1v1 and it felt like cat and mouse for a good 4 rounds. How do you solve it in your games?
5)Outnumbering
Yesterday I have read post about the spear and understood that we added wrong assist bonuses with basic weapons. Just to clarify - when you attack the enemy, you gain +1 ONLY for teammates that are in base contact with the enemy, and when you defend, you gain +1 for each teammate that "touches" the enemy?
6)Starting position.
Both of our games started like a game of Go and that resulted in on big crowd near the center of the board. Are you doing the same or is it optimal strat?
Campaign - probbably one of the main reasons I quit Kill team is the fact that all games felt a little bit to close to chess with dice (and no pawns) so I wanted to add a little story and some fleur. Do you guys have some campaigns and where you would recommend to look for them?
Withchelm
I heard that name and all I know that this is fantasy reskin of Greathelm. Where I can learn more about it?
I hope this isn't to much questions)
Teutonic knights vs Wallachians
So the Warhammer preview just dropped and I'm in love with the new ogor models!!! Problem is...only game I play is greathelm as it's perfect for solo narrative playing.
So my question is has anyone implemented rules for 'monster' size units in their game? Or are there any plans from Malev the almighty to create something?
Ogor models look just under twice the size of a victrix foot knight so id say given their size and mass they'd be equal to at least 3 knights!!
Had some knights that I’ve wanted to paint up for a while and Greathelm was the push I needed. Man, this game is good already and looking forward to the main release to drop.
I recently picked up the Baratheon starter set from a Song of Ice and Fire, which has some great looking knights and enough to field 12 more
I also made this little video if you’d rather see them go in circles…lol.

This is a pretty basic set of cards made up using the QuickStart rules on one side and the more complicated rules the other side, for teaching new players. I’m hoping to get in a game with some friends tomorrow, so I’ve tried to make these match the minis pretty easily, with spots to place Momentum and Damage tokens.
3/3 for the black/white mortality crews onto the next theme!
Not the best photos and not the best painting, but some knights, knights with two handed weapons and some mixed sergeants
My war bands are now ready to fight for the river!
I'm slowly putting together two warbands and got the new Victrix medieval mix set. I intend to include 1 ranged unit and 1 mounted knight in each band, and wasn't sure if I should cram the horse onto the same 25mm base everything else is on or if a 25x50mm would be fine.
Thematically it makes sense since a horse is a huge animal but I have 0 actual wargaming experience and thought it might screw up the A4-scale... I know the rules are new and changing but if anyone has a clue for "future-proofing" as much as possible.
Thank you for any tips :)
TLDR: Should a mounted knight have a 25mm base, or a bigger 25x50mm base?
edit: thanks for the replies! I was using the dual purpose bases with magnet holes from WGA for the infantry so I’ll probably just go ahead and get the mounted version.
