Law Roach love

Just finished watching the Ziwe interview, and it really endeared me to him. If you’re struggling with law a lot this season, maybe watch it!

I def don’t agree with every one of his takes and opinions on looks (esp the intense Joseph McRae hate(although some of the critiques are warranted)), but I still really do like him. He’s not a moral paragon. There are also a lot of fair criticisms about him including how he dresses non sample sized women and that he dresses Mrs. Bezos. Regardless, he is so funny and has great taste. He also knows his fashion history (hence why he loved Aaron). I appreciate that he doesn’t just agree with his fellow judges. He really cares about the DESIGN of a garment. He’s often calling out things that other judges ignore (how Bryan’s dress would fit Hidi, the problems with Jude’s design).

Additionally, I think he is a good judge on a weak panel. Different judges on the show have always played different roles or added different areas of expertise, and I think the weakness of the panel overall is causing a lot of friction. It’s all out of balance. Heidi and Nina are not showing up like they used to. There is no consistent designer on the panel which makes judging feel hollow. Some of the rotating and guest judges are great. Some add nothing (cough Tyra). There is no good counter balance to law so it makes it more grating.

Shout out Mama Joe’s

Picked up takeout from Mama Jo’s this earlier week for dinner and I just wanted to take a second to shout them out. As always, the barbecue was great (and enough for a couple of meals). I got the plate ribs, with beans and Mac as my sides, some pulled pork, and collard greens. Everything tasted delicious. But I want to particularly shout out the guys that work there. They were fantastic and really kind. (Forgive me misspelling in the title!)

I miss ____ (spoiler for episode 4)

I miss >!Aaron!<. This season is …interesting. I wish we got more >!Aaron!< during the season. I really enjoyed his knowledge of fashion history and cultural history, and the ways he implemented it in his work. The look he was eliminated for was not great, but I would have just loved to see more. (I also think the time issue is real even if the other contestant was able to make it work). I loved his talking heads. Could have for sure had narrator of the season energy.

Search for a (blue) cafe I went to in 2018?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to find a cafe that I went to when I did an exchange program in France in high school. It was in Paris. It was a cafe/tea room on the older side and was almost entirely blue on the inside. Based on my memory it was close to the Seine. Does anyone know what it could have been called?
