How do I slow down the damage of my teeth while I wait for my dentist appointment?
Hello, I've been in a very bad place for a few years (and sort of still am) which took a toll on my dental hygiene. My parents also refused to help me make appointments as it was "something I should already know at my age", so due to my anxiety I have entered adulthood without getting a personal dentist for adults whilst suffering from mental health struggles.
Eventually (a few months ago since the time of posting) I got my shit together and decided to call in for an appointment, the person on the line said she earliest she can do is 7 months from now, and while I did agree since I am in a dire need of a dentist, it is still a very long wait.
My question is, what can I do (besides brushing my teeth twice a day and trying by best to floss) to make sure my teeth don't enter a worse condition while I wait for the appointment? I tried finding a private dentist whom I could pay instead but it's outside my current budget (but this isn't out of the picture yet). My biggest worry is that while I wait, my teeth will get in a worse state, so I want to prevent it as much as possible.
Please give any advice you can on this as I'm extremely nervous about this.
