Filipina visiting from Canada here. I have money to burn in Manila, though I’m only gonna be there for a few days lol. Only place I know I’m going to for sure is BGC, but I could check out other anime/hobby stores within Manila. Just don’t know where yet.
In-person stores only please! I won’t have time for anything to arrive, and I’m hearing mixed opinions on using Canadian CCs abroad.
Fandoms I’m most interested in are (highest>lowest priority):
- Umamusume Pretty Derby: most interested in merch for Mejiro McQueen, Gold City and Fine Motion. Possibly looking to buy manga volumes for Cinderella Gray too
- Digimon: most interested in the Figure-Rise Standard Amplified model kits, or anything from the newest anime (Digimon Beatbreak)
- Project Moon: might be my longest shot tbh. Most interested in anything from Library of Ruina or Limbus Company. Still a bit salty I missed out on a recent Japan collab
- The Amazing Digital Circus: most interested in merch for Gangle and Gummigoo
I don’t think there’s any events or conventions I’ll have time to check out </3 I’m not actually heading to Manila until close to the flight home, June 27. Though, something cool in Canada we have is Makers, which is a store stocked with merch from various artists all year round. That includes fanmade merch! I’m curious if there’s some place similar in the Philippines too.
