Exhaust options?
I just picked up an 09 crf450x for riding the local trails and short commutes, potentially with hopes to clean it up and convert it to a super moto in the future. The current exhaust setup is not only extremely loud, but it seems to be causing excessive backfiring on deceleration, shooting decent size flames. Bike doesn’t seem running lean, there aren’t any signs of poor valve clearance and I can’t detect any exhaust leaks so I’m assuming it’s the aftermarket muffler.
Hoping to see any suggestions on how to either restrict the current exhaust a little, or if there were any recommendations for budget muffler or full exhaust solutions to help me avoid a defect (the bike is already enough of a cop magnet, wouldn’t mind something a bit quieter).
