Hi, I'm somewhat new to knitting (made a scarf 10 years ago so I know the basic 2 stitches but nothing since) I'm relearning and expanding my knowledge by attempting these socks and I got stuck where it says to do the stst.

Per my research that could be the stockinete stitch but in the pattern picture it doesn't look like any pictures or videos of it that I checked (it looks like normal stitches)

Is it a misspelling in the pattern? Is it a trust the proces kind of thing? Does it mean anything else?

EDIT: I'm working in a round on round needles if that helps see my confusion
