Theory on opening scenes/episode:

It looks like Ben DeSoto (Joey Pollari) or at least his girlfriend, Kira (Madelaine Petsch), will be a part of our intro to the season. She is obsessed with the number 13, hence things like her shirt. But it looks like they’ll come across a lot of symbolism and signs of the number 13 around them too. In one scene from the trailer (see first image) she is walking towards her friend group at the airport. Funnily enough her friend group including herself looks to be exactly 13 people. From set images we’ve also seen a fun little Easter egg of the 12 previous seasons locations and current location all along the wall of the airport terminal too (13 total). With 13 being a bad luck or omen number… it’s fair to assume Kira and her friend group are on a plane crash after a lot of the symbolism and omens playing out before them.

From this, my theory is that Ben in his grief starts to run into the number 13 a lot too. In more set images where Pollari was spotted filming back in April there were several props and things around the setting of NYC that allude to the number again. For example, a laundromat service van and florist van both with 13. I think all of this leads him to his job at The Apollyon where Constance and Mr. Nas reside. This is where it all overlaps and the real chaos of the season unfolds with “13” a constant symbolism across the season.

The synopses for the first few episodes somewhat support these theories but the first episode suggests he also experiences a near-death experience, so I wonder if he was aboard the flight, if he faces something after during his grief, or if “near-death” just means he was close to a victim of death (wordplay). It also looks like he may have been lured to The Apollyon by Nas (and maybe Constance) all along, so he must hold some importance to the big bad’s plans.

I also think Elle Chapman is Kira’s friend that Ben potentially links back up with in episode 5. She is a part of the friend group and I have seen her and Pollari engage on social media a few times recently. I wonder what dynamic they all have.

Whatever the case, I am eagerly excited to see this all unfold.

I reckon the Top 10 characters are:

Top 10 Most-Beloved:

  1. Lana Winters
  2. Liz Taylor
  3. Misty Day
  4. Myrtle Snow
  5. Pepper
  6. Tate Langdon
  7. Jude Martin
  8. The Countess
  9. Cordelia Goode
  10. Queenie

Top 10 Most-Iconic:

  1. Tate Langdon
  2. Fiona Goode
  3. Lana Winters
  4. Constance Langdon
  5. Madison Montgomery
  6. Myrtle Snow
  7. The Countess
  8. Marie Laveau
  9. Jude Martin
  10. Twisty the Clown

Special mention to Violet Harmon, Kit Walker, Mary Eunice McKee, Delphine LaLaurie, Dandy Mott, Sally McKenna, James Patrick March, The Butcher, Kai Anderson, Winter Anderson, Michael Langdon, and Montana Duke who would all be near or around either Top 10.

Please note these lists are based on an in-depth study of fandom pages (including reddit), articles, social media, and characters I think have always been near these discussions. Please don’t pop off if your own faves or preferred list is different- this is simply just my findings. Even my own lists are also much different.

Now, thinking about how Ryan said he looked at top 10 lists… I have to wonder if Lily Rabe, Denis O’Hare, Naomi Grossman, Finn Wittrock, and Cody Fern were in discussions to appear. In particular, Lily and Denis who are evidently major favorites amongst the fandom. I know they tried to get GaGa to come back but surely they went for Lily and Denis too.

Personally, I think Mary Eunice McKee, Misty Day, and Liz Taylor should definitely be in an all-stars season. I’d even give Denis the task of playing his other characters such as Larry Harvey and Spalding too. He has the chops to do it.

Anyway, let’s go September!!

This is so funny to me. But I love his taste!

The fact it’s Sarah’s least favorite season and Jessica probably didn’t even know it existed before having to do a little bit of homework for this season… LOL.

But I loved Roanoke and agree it had a cool structure and concept. It’s my second favorite season.

All Star Season Without THE AHS FAMILY

I understand Dylan, Connie, and Taissa haven’t been staples since season 1-3 (especially Connie). I also understand their story has been told and the revisit in Apocalypse closed some more of that story off… but I think it’s wild we’re having an all stars season without THE family that introduced us into the AHS world. We’re yet to hear of Denis and Lily too, which really does blur my version of what I’d call an all stars season if they all don’t appear haha. But beggars can’t be choosers and I’ll remain satisfied with Jessica, Angela, Kathy, Frances, Evan, Sarah, and JCL, etc. making their returns. Anyway, just some thoughts.

Is this giving AVA?

Is anyone else getting Anna Victoria Alcott vibes from Emma’s appearance here? Madison would usually wear more black and pizazz.

Let’s start speculating…

Where is Mallory? We know she appears in AHS13 and we know Billie has been on set quite a bit. Are the Coven off to find/free her from something/someone evil? Is she dead before the scene of them strutting NYC? Is she yet to appear? Or something else?
