Does anyone else feel like Ryan wasted Kathy Bates' talent with her cameo in S13 Ep 8? The only thing they did was have her appear as Madame LaLaurie in Queenie's hell for a couple minutes, have some stupid argument occur between them, just to wrap it up with the "finger lickin' good" line. Really? That's how you use her talent? I know she only had one day to film for S13, but that scene was just stupid and did nothing to move the story plot along. Did any of you feel the same way?

I miss when every season was about a different theme, a different story.

Does anyone else feel like this season wasted Evan Peter's acting skills? All of his characters (Tate and Kai) have been used only to create comedic relief or as a plot device to create humor. James Patrick March was the first character whose performance felt authentic because the writers gave Evan more to work with than a corny one-liner or 15 seconds of dialogue. They ruined Kai's ending by bringing him back for literally no reason, as neither Tate nor Kai has contributed anything serious to the overall plot. Not to mention, both characters have been butchered and lost what made them so compelling and interesting in the first place. This is not Evan's fault. He has been doing great with what they gave him and has all the mannerisms down perfectly. But they brought back James Patrick March for one episode, only to kill him off in the next in an extremely unserious way. Evan's presence hasn't felt completely pointless but is definitely a lot less important than in previous seasons. It's not his screen time that is the problem. At least for Sara Paulson, although she wasn't in the first 5 episodes much, when she was finally on screen, her character was given a serious role with dialogue that felt emotional and significant due to her dynamic with Fiona and was just overall more important to the plot. In the next coming episodes, I do not see James Patrick March returning. Kai and Tate might return but their roles will once again be purely used as a plot device to create humor, as the season seems to focus more on the Coven now going forward. None of his characters that were brought back seem super needed, and none of them are going to get any new character development in any way. I would have much rather have him come back to play one or two returning characters that get more serious scenes and have an overall more important purpose in the season. Let me know if anyone has thoughts or theories about this down below.

It’s the highlight of AHS as far as I’m concerned. Easily as good as other shows that have come out like Supernatural, TVD/Originals, Interview With A Vampire, Yellowjackets. Coven could’ve gone for 5 seasons easy.

Episode 7 made me realize that Fiona’s biggest strength was not just having the power of Seven Wonders. It was how naturally she used them under pressure like in her battle against James, she doesn’t just spam magic and you can tell she reads the room by reviving his henchmen back (they were all killed by the coven), turns them against him through concillium then immediately revives Cordelia. The way she utilizes magic is so effortlessly natural like it was a second nature for her.

I have no doubt she’d straight up prevent Apocalypse before Michael come into his power. She clearly had the power, experience, instinct and confidence to be an incredible Supreme if she actually cared about the job. It’s lowkey tragic how she squandered the chances to be the greatest Supreme ever in the history of Salem coven due to her own selfishness because the Coven would definitely thrive under her reign.

One thing I've never liked about Coven is how easily they can bring anyone back from the dead. It completely cheapens their deaths and takes away any emotional impact. Like, what's even the point of killing off a character if death means nothing anymore . Like, wasn't Fiona literally dying of cancer? Why does she come back perfectly fine? Some characters have died and come back like four times, it's ridiculous I'm sorry

I wouldn't even mind if it was well written or made sense within the lore, but the way AHS handles it just feels so lazy. Death completely loses its meaning when you know anyone can just come back whenever the writers feel like it.

Compare that to other shows like Charmed or Buffy The Vampire Slayer, for example. Death actually has weight, there are real consequences, and bringing someone back is a huge deal with established rules. It never feels like something that can just happen casually. Meanwhile in AHS it feels like they just make up the rules as they go

1. How did james march die when fiona killed him but not when cordelia stabbed tf out of him?
2. Why has no one mentioned zoe or misty
3. Why is venable there if apocalypse didn't happen
4. Why was bringing back marie laveau relevant? I know it's nostalgia bait but what's the actual reason why is papa legba helping them
5. Why would cordelia bring back fiona instead if myrtle snow for guidance
6. No mention of constance's 2 other children
7. Constance suddenly celebrating evil and the dark lord when she couldnt even handle michael langdon in s8

Also i really wished madison said her iconic "surprise bitch" line to jeffrey dahmer when she was revived.. instead of fumbling it and making her saying it in the first episode with no context.

This is the worst idea Ryan Murphy has ever had. This is just a punch in the balls to all the nostalgia characters. And on top of that holy shit this is boring. debate me till the grave if you want to. BTW papa Legba wtf are you even doing

Comparing crossovers at least Apocalypse seemed more serious, 13 is relying on one liners and potential memes. I have a feeling Satan isn’t going to be as “serious” as Michael, first because Paul is such a bad actor and the 3 seconds we got of him acting with Lange was cringe asf.

In 13 the witches are seen to possess new powers, feats, and skills:

Ascendae, also known as Levitation: Ophelia seems to possess a slightly weaker version of telekinesis allowing her to levitate objects with her mind.

Resurgence 2.0: Morweena seems to possess a much stronger version of Resurgence than Misty’s. Morweena could bring the dead frog back to life, but was also able to regenerate the frog back into a tadpole. So her powers involve resurrection and regeneration, unlike Misty who needed her swamp mud to heal.

Temporal Immobilization: During the spirit board scene when Mallory represents Transmutation apart of the ritual to bring back Fiona, Mallory stops time for a split second.

Telekinetic Immobilization: both Cordelia and Fiona use this feat of telekinesis on March’s sickle by suspending it in mid air motionless.

Thermokinesis; When Madison holds the arm of Dahmer she uses her powers to burn his hand without the use of Pyrokinesis.

Mallory’s “Spidey Sense”: Mallory was able to psychically envision the locations of Ramirez and the Zodiac. Now if I had to make a name for this power it would be called Temporal Sight, which basically allows Mallory to see difference points in time, like the past, present, and future similar to Cordelia’s second sight.

Temporal Displacement: Mallory could use her time powers to bring Ramirez into the past, having him be brutally and fatally jumped.

Diabetic Transference: When Coco and Queenie combine their powers, Coco is allowed to transfer her blood sugar levels to the zodiac, making him go into a diabetic shock killing him
