Why do providers discourage pumping and try to make you breastfeed instead?

Hi all! Just had my second 3 weeks ago. My first was mostly breastfeed until I returned to work and we started doing 50/50 pumping and breastfeeding. This time around my daughter is an inefficient nurser and I prefer to exclusively pump for her. I like that with pumping she is on a super consistent feeding schedule and I can get help with her whenever needed.

However, every time it comes up that I pump, pediatricians and OBs etc. see it as a negative and encourage me to to work to “get her back to breast”. Why is this if it’s my preference to pump? Has anyone else experienced this?
