Partial solar eclipse over Rayleigh

Managed to catch the partial solar eclipse from Rayleigh this evening 🌒✨
Not the easiest thing to photograph through an iPhone, but out of the 10 photos I took, I’m pretty happy with how this one came out! 📸

Hosepipe ban..

Just seen Essex & Suffolk Water are bringing in a Temporary Use Ban from Monday 3 August.
No hosepipes for watering gardens, washing cars, filling paddling pools or pressure washing.
Think it’ll make much difference, or is your lawn already past the point of no return? 🌱

Yay up close foxxo 🦊 🧡

This beautiful fox has been visiting my garden for quite a while now. Over time he’s become used to me, and these days he doesn’t run away when he sees me. Tonight he wandered over and got closer than ever before while I just sat quietly and let him do his thing 🦊🧡

He trusted me enough to come this close. 🦊❤️

Edit: The bowl contains fresh water, especially during the current heatwave. A wildlife rescue confirmed that eggs are a natural part of a fox’s diet and are perfectly fine to leave out. He’s still a wild fox; just one with fresh water and a safe place to rest. 🦊🧡

Does anyone else’s Border Collie look this happy during tug? 🥹

Every game of tug was treated like the championship final. 😂
She’d bring me the rope with that huge grin, stare into my soul until I grabbed the other end, and somehow always managed to convince me that just one more game was a brilliant idea.
I still smile every time I see these photos. Border Collies really do have a way of making the simplest moments become the ones you treasure the most.

Show me your tug-of-war champions! 🖤🤍🐾

Smile if you love snacks. 🦊

I know it’s probably just the way her mouth is sitting, but it genuinely looks like she’s giving me a little smile here. She visits my garden most evenings, and seeing her has become one of the highlights of my day.
Such beautiful, intelligent animals. 🦊🧡

Yay sleepy foxxo

No food, no fuss, just a fox enjoying a sunny afternoon nap amongst the clover in the garden. Watching wildlife trust a space enough to completely relax never gets old. I was sitting about 2ft away from her 🦊❤️

Caught my garden fox looking for an escape route 🦊

She wandered into the garden carrying what looked like a slice of ham, then spent several minutes trying to find a way through or over the fence.
This photo perfectly captures the moment she realised the route she’d planned wasn’t going to work.
She eventually found her way out, ham still intact. 😂

This fox arrived, judged me, and left 😂

Apparently nobody told this fox. It showed up, posed for a portrait, judged me silently, and carried on with its day. Absolute professional 😂🧡🦊

Visitor in the back garden last night 🦊

Looked out the window and found this beautiful red fox sitting in the yard, staring right up at me like it was waiting for a conversation. He stayed for a few minutes, posed for a photo, then carried on with his evening. Always a treat to see one this close. ❤️🦊

Photo taken from an upstairs window.

Yay cute foxxo posing 🦊

Caught from my bedroom window, think he’s saying

“I sat. I looked adorable. Where is my payment?”

New to my garden 🦊🧡

Took her a little while to trust us, but it was worth the wait! 🦊🧡

My son and I were sitting by the back door when she gradually came closer and closer. We were amazed at how comfortable she seemed with us.

Bonus surprise: I’ve never seen a fox casually walk along a fence before! 😂

A familiar visitor at the feeding table

A peaceful moment from one of the UK’s most common birds, often overlooked, but surprisingly beautiful up close… still able to freak me out when they fly though 😂😂

Robin giving me the side-eye this morning

Caught this little beauty perched on my friend’s fence this morning looking thoroughly unimpressed with me. One of my favourite UK garden birds - tiny, fearless, and full of attitude.
